W es uno de los webtoons más famosos y amados de corea, su autor Oh Sung Moo por su lado no podría estar más cansado y asustado de su propia creación, porque un día sus personajes comienza a tomar vida propia a través de la pantalla

W is one of the most famous and beloved webtoons in Korea, its author Oh Sung Moo on his side couldn't be more tired and scared of his own creation, because one day his characters starts to take a life of their own through the screen.

Este es un romance, un romance hilarante con muchos momentos divertidos pero en general es una traman que transcurre más rápido de lo que me gusta en las historias, En un mundo ideal donde los doramas acostumbren a tener más de 20 capítulos creo que este drama en particular se hubiese destacado y le hubiese dado suficiente tiempo para desenvolver el montón de ideas y situaciones que quisieron poner de una forma en que puedas considerar todo más serio, y también le hubiese dado suficiente tiempo a ambos protagonistas de desarrollar una relación más lógica (apenas interactúan pero repentinamente de una escena a otra son pareja) pero lamentablemente no es así.

This is a romance, a hilarious romance with many funny moments but overall it's a plot that runs faster than I like in stories, In an ideal world where doramas used to be 20+ episodes I think this particular drama would have stood out and given it enough time to unwrap the bunch of ideas and situations they wanted to put in a way that you can consider everything more serious, and also would have given enough time for both main characters to develop a more logical relationship (they barely interact but suddenly from one scene to another they are a couple) but unfortunately it's not like that.

Durante toda la historia nos tratan de hacernos creer que “hay conexiones lógicas” aquí y allá, pero realmente no las hay, o al menos, no están lo suficientemente bien desarrolladas, mientras que el Plot Twist final tenía mucho potencial, al punto de que sentí una emoción genuina por saber que pasaría, todo se torna confuso y la situación es alargada demás, como si se volviera a repetir la misma historia… ¡otra vez! Hay muchos momentos y escenas con potenciales que no son aprovechadas adecuadamente y creo que eso fue lo que más me decepciono

Throughout the story they try to make us believe that "there are logical connections" here and there, but there really aren't, or at least, they are not well developed enough, while the final Plot Twist had a lot of potential, to the point that I felt a genuine excitement to know what would happen, everything becomes confusing and the situation is stretched too much, as if the same story was repeating itself... again! There are many moments and scenes with potential that are not properly exploited and I think that's what disappointed me the most.

Afortunadamente para esta novela, las situaciones en que los protagonistas se ven envueltos son lo suficientemente entretenidas para hacerme ignorar estos detalle por un rato (hasta que vuelven a repetir los mismo errores otra vez) y disfrutar de la rara historia que nos presenta este dorama

Fortunately for this novel, the situations in which the protagonists are involved are entertaining enough to make me ignore these details for a while (until they repeat the same mistakes again) and enjoy the rare story presented by this dorama.

Lo más destacable de esta novela es el concepto que nos trae, ese feeling de fantasía que nos ofrecen es distinto al que se tiene acostumbrado en las novelas coreanas (normalmente, los géneros de fantasía están más inclinado a aspectos mágicos, leyendas y/o relacionados con el más allá) pero W: Two Worlds nos ofrece una historia de mundo alterno que comúnmente suelo disfrutar mucho es comics y webtoons, por lo que al ver algo de este estilo adaptado a una novela fue algo… diferente y fresco, así que se lleva totalmente el merito en originalidad, pero el desarrollo de esta idea aun no me cierra del todo

The most remarkable thing about this novel is the concept that brings us, that fantasy feeling that we are offered is different from what we are used to in Korean novels (usually, fantasy genres are more inclined to magical aspects, legends and / or related to the afterlife) but W: Two Worlds offers us an alternate world story that I usually enjoy a lot in comics and webtoons, so seeing something of this style adapted to a novel was something... different and fresh, so it totally takes the merit in originality, but the development of this idea still doesn't close me completely.

Las actuaciones están tan bien logradas como me lo esperaría (pero no son los mejores trabajos de sus actores principales) pero en general creo que es porque no había demasiado con lo que trabajar, me refiero, las situaciones son sub-realistas, por lo que sus actuaciones a veces no son las más, bueno, realistas. Eso sí, realmente me gusto el personaje de Oh Yeon-Joo interpretado por Han Hyo-Joo aunque la mayoría de las veces me diera un pequeño tic nervioso por el cómo reaccionaba a algunas situaciones, Kang Chul, interpretado por Lee Jong Suk, por su parte si tiene estos aires de ser un personaje ficticio pero su actuación a veces era como… ¿Ok? No era necesariamente malo pero si un poco como “Bueno eres un personaje ficticio dentro de un comic, supongo que te dejare reaccionar así”

The performances are as well accomplished as I would expect (but not the best work from its lead actors) but overall I think it's because there wasn't too much to work with, I mean, the situations are sub-realistic, so their performances sometimes aren't the most, well, realistic. Mind you, I really liked the character of Oh Yeon-Joo played by Han Hyo-Joo even though most of the time I got a little nervous twitch because of how he reacted to some situations, Kang Chul, played by Lee Jong Suk, for his part if he has these airs of being a fictional character but his acting at times was like... Okay? It wasn't necessarily bad but it was a bit like "Well you're a fictional character inside a comic book, I guess I'll let you react like that."

Si te gusta el misterio, el romance y la fantasía y estas lo suficientemente dispuesto/a a ver un dorama potencialmente confuso y caótico, quizás podrías darle un vistazo, ya que creo que se puede llegar a considerar como una historia agradable aunque no se que tanto la recomendaría en general

If you like mystery, romance and fantasy and are willing enough to watch a potentially confusing and chaotic dorama, perhaps you could give it a look, as I think it could be considered an enjoyable story, although I don't know how much I would recommend it overall.
