Out of metaphors

Help me sail these waters,

stay behind the wheel with me,

it's my last chance to deliver!

This quiet storm will save us or end us,

make up your mind before we hit the floor;

lost and no whispers,

I am out of metaphors!

I lost my appetite for promises

or dreams that'll never happen;

I want the real thing, from A to Z,

with all that it entails, so let me in,

don't treat me like a second choice!

I didn't gain my freedom

nor tamed my pride

just to turn into girlfriend

for the weekend!
