Travel around the world Nr. 39 Dahner Felsenland Deu/Eng

Hallo liebe Hiver,
Vor 2 Wochen haben meine Frau und ich das Oktoberwetter genutzt und einen Wanderausflug ins Dahner Feelsenland gemacht. Ein schönes Hotel im nahegelegenen Pirmasens eignet sich hervorragend als Ausgangspunkt für ein Wanderwochenende. Mit einem guten Frühstück frisch gestärkt geht es los in die "Bergwelt". Auf dem Rücken der Wanderrucksack gepackt mit Getränken, Regenjacken und einer Brotzeit, man muss ja vorbereitet sein. In Dahn erfolgt dann der Einstige in den Dahner Felsenweg. Der führt auf unzähligen Kilometern rund um Dahn und man kommt an den beeindruckendsten Felsformationen vorbei. Insgesamt sind wir ca. 13 Kilometer in 4 Stunden gewandet. Man muss ja auch die Aussicht genießen und Fotos für den Blog machen😉.
Die Sandsteinfelsen sind schon extrem beeindruckend. man fühlt sich wie im Wilden Westen der USA. Teilweise 10 oder 20 Meter hohe Steingebilde, die seit Jahrtausenden Wind und Wetter trotzen und man sich manchmal fragt, wie die Dinger eigentlich noch stehen können. Schwindelfrei sollte man an manchen Stellen auch besser sein, da geht es ganz schön tief runter. Der Weg führt durch Wälder und durch Felsspalten, den Berg hinauf und wieder hinab ins Tal. An vielen Felsen sieht man Kletterhaken, denn das Gebiet ist bei Freeclimbern sehr beliebt. Einige haben wir auch gesehen als sie sich für den Aufstieg fertig gemacht haben.
Unterwegs kann man auch eine kleine Rast im Wirtshaus inmitten des Waldes einlegen und einen guten Pfälzer Wein genießen aber nicht zu viel bitte, von wegen Trittsicherheit.
Eine kleine tote Schlange haben wir auch gesehen, oder war das eher eine Blindschleiche? War mir da nicht ganz sicher.
Es war ein wunderbarer Ausflug und wir kommen sicher wieder. Nächstes mal sind dann die Burgen dran, die hier überall in den Sandsteinfelsen gehauen wurden. Bin schon sehr gespannt darauf.

2 weeks ago my wife and I took advantage of the October weather and went on a hiking trip to Dahner Feelsenland. A nice hotel in nearby Pirmasens is an excellent starting point for a hiking weekend. With a good breakfast freshly strengthened it goes off into the "mountain world". On the back of the hiking backpack packed with drinks, rain jackets and a snack, you have to be prepared. In Dahn, we enter the Dahner Felsenweg (Dahn Rock Trail). The trail leads for countless kilometers around Dahn and you pass the most impressive rock formations. In total we walked about 13 kilometers in 4 hours. You also have to enjoy the view and take photos for the blog😉.
The sandstone rocks are already extremely impressive. you feel like in the Wild West of the USA. Partly 10 or 20 meters high stone formations that have defied wind and weather for thousands of years and you sometimes wonder how the things can actually still stand. Free of giddiness one should be also better in some places, there it goes quite deeply down. The path leads through forests and through crevices, up the mountain and back down into the valley. On many rocks you can see climbing hooks, because the area is very popular with free climbers. We also saw some as they got ready for the climb.
On the way you can also take a small break in the inn in the middle of the forest and enjoy a good Palatinate wine but not too much please, because of surefootedness.
We also saw a small dead snake, or was that rather a slow worm? I was not quite sure.
It was a wonderful trip and we will certainly come again. Next time are then the castles, which were hewn here everywhere in the sandstone rocks. I am already very excited about it.
