[ENG-SPA] Chuletas de pernil, yuca al ajillo y ensalada coleslaw - Pork chops, yucca with garlic and coleslaw salad

Happy Friday dear lovers of delicious food 😋 today I bring you an easy, economical and most importantly super fast recipe to prepare! This dish was our lunch yesterday and boy did we enjoy it, it takes very few ingredients and believe me you will leave the diners asking for a second plate hahaha this happened to me but I was the one who wanted to repeat 😂.

Este platillo fue nuestro almuerzo del día de ayer y vaya que lo disfrutamos, lleva muy pocos ingredientes y créeme que dejarás a los comensales pidiendo un segundo plato jajaja esto me pasó pero fui yo la que quería repetir 😂

Ingredients

  • Half a medium cabbage
  • 1 large carrot or 2 medium ones
  • 2 kilos of yucca
  • 1 and 1/2 of pork chops
  • 8 cloves of garlic
  • 1 small bunch of parsley
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • Salt
  • Rosemary and oregano
  • Vinegar or 1 lemon
  • Mayonnaise or natural yogurt

  • La mitad de un repollo mediano
  • 1 zanahoria grande o 2 medianas
  • 2 kilos de yuca
  • 1 y 1/2 de chuletas de pernil
  • 8 dientes de ajo
  • 1 ramo pequeño de perejil
  • 2 cucharadas de azúcar
  • Sal
  • Romero y orégano
  • Vinagre o 1 limón
  • Mayonesa o yogurt natural

Preparation



We remove the peel from our yucca and wash it well, cut them in half vertically, place them in a pot with enough water and boil them until they are soft. To know that they have softened well, we prick them with a fork or a knife.

Quitamos la corteza de nuestra yuca y la lavamos bien, las cortamos a la mitad verticalmente, las colocamos en una olla con suficiente agua y las hervimos hasta que ablanden. Para saber que ablandaron bien, las pinchamos con un tenedor o con un cuchillo.


We take our vegetables and place them in a container with water and vinegar to eliminate any type of bacteria, if we do not have vinegar we can add a lemon to the water since it has antibacterial properties. After soaking for about 10 minutes, grate the carrots and cabbage and put them in a bowl where we add mayonnaise to taste, salt and two tablespoons of sugar. If you are not a fan of mayonnaise you can use natural or Greek yogurt and believe me it will taste just as delicious and will be healthier too.

Tomamos nuestros vegetales y los colocamos en un recipiente con agua y vinagre para eliminar cualquier tipo de bacterias, si no tenemos vinagre podemos colocarle un limón al agua ya que este tiene propiedades antibacterianas. Pasados unos 10 minutos de remojo, rallamos la zanahoria y el repollo y los llevamos a un recipiente donde les añadiremos mayonesa al gusto, sal y las dos cucharadas de azúcar. Si no eres fan de la mayonesa puedes utilizar yogurt natural o griego y créeme que sabrá igual de deliciosa y será más saludable también.


Chop the parsley and 4 cloves of garlic and fry them in a frying pan with three tablespoons of butter and salt to taste to make the garlic sauce that will cover our delicious yuccas. Once the yuccas are soft, we put them in this pan and mix them very well.

Picamos el perejil y 4 dientes de ajo y en un sartén los sofreímos junto a tres cucharadas de mantequilla y sal al gusto para realizar el ajillo que cubrirá nuestras deliciosas yucas. Una vez las yucas estén blandas, las colocamos en este sartén y las mezclamos muy bien.

We clean our chops and take them to a frying pan, add salt to taste, 4 cloves of garlic, oregano and rosemary to taste and fry them until they are golden brown and that's it! just like that, we have our super dish ready to surprise our guests.

Limpiamos nuestras chuletas y las llevamos a un sartén, les añadimos sal al gusto, 4 dientes de ajo, orégano y romero al gusto y las vamos a sofreír hasta que estén doraditas ¡Y listo! así de fácil tenemos nuestro super platillo preparado para sorprender a nuestros comensales.
