Hi friends of HIVE, for this opportunity I prepared some Andean arepas (wheat arepas), very delicious and not difficult to make. Great for breakfast, dinner or even a snack.

Paso 1:

Step 1

To start this recipe I heated the milk separately (it is necessary to add the milk to the warm mixture); in a large bowl I put the wheat flour (I left some in the package to use it later), added the two eggs, the sugar, the salt, the oil (it replaces the butter), then with my hand I mixed the flour with all the ingredients before adding the milk.

After mixing it, I added the milk little by little and kneaded; after adding the milk, when I saw that I still had flour, I proceeded to add a little water.

Paso 2:

Step 2

This will start to become like chewing gum when kneading it (do not worry because that is what the flour I left aside is for, it will be added little by little), when I saw that the dough was taking the shape of bread dough, in the foundation I added flour and took the dough out of the bowl to place it there and continue kneading it, you have to knead between 10 to 15 minutes to get it right and it can be soft and grow.

When the dough is ready I put it back in the bowl and covered it with plastic wrap to let it rest for about 15 minutes; after that time I took the dough to the foundation and stretched it in the shape of bread and cut it into several pieces to make it easier to stretch it.

Paso 3:

Step 3:

I always put a little bit of flour before placing the dough on the foundation to prevent it from sticking, and with a rolling pin I stretch it until it is a little thin and with a bowl with a thin edge I place it on the dough to give it a round shape.

With the budare previously heated over medium heat, I put the Andean arepas to cook them (these are cooked for about one minute on each side), when they are golden brown it is time to take them out and enjoy them. You can fill them with butter and cheese, eat them alone, or fill them with whatever you like.
