GARDEN JOURNAL CHALLENGE | THE SAD PART OF MY GARDEN JOURNAL IN OCTOBER.

Greetings garden lovers,

It's nice to be back posting in this community since I've been missing for a month I guess. Honestly speaking I'm not very active in my garden activities for a while since I decided to find a job months ago. As I mentioned in my previous blog I was currently having my training here in the City as a customer representative in one of the many BPO industries. A few months ago I was away for a couple of weeks while I'm still applying so I don't have the time for my plants. Now that I was hired already and currently having my training I decided to rent a small room near my company so it would be convenient for me because it will take 3 hours or more if I will go home every day and it will be a waste of time and money so even though I'm very sad to be away from family and also to my second babies which are my plants I made a constant decision to risk because I've been unemployed for a while already and I want to make a change since we need to strive harder because of the problems we face and also our kids are getting big and we need to provide there daily needs and their school.

In this monthly update as part of my participation in the monthly gardens journal challenge, I'll be showing you the current situation of my vegetable garden since I left at home for work. I was able to go home to my family so as part of my routine aside from my responsibility to the kids I went to visit my second babies and this is how they look now.

Sweet potatoes and jute leaves are still there but string beans died because it was eaten by cows. There are a lot of high weeds and okras are getting wethered. I guess their life spans are ended but I think if I was home it would be prolonged because most of the farmers said that okra needs to be harvested every day, its growth will be extended but since I didn't harvest it appropriately it became like this early. Anyway, I save so many seeds so whenever I have time to do gardening again I will use them I even share them with my friends.

While I roamed around I can still spot some healthy long green chilies and some pumpkin flowers and fruits.

The eggplants are still growing pretty well. It has a lot of fruits so I pick the big ones so I can bring some back to the city for my consumption.

So far I manage to get good fruits like eggplants and some chilies and my family in the province can still get a good harvest for their food.

Now this season in October I think it would be the start of my lonely journey in gardening. I will be busy focusing on my job as of now and even if how much I like to continue it here the place doesn't have a good atmosphere for planting but whenever I can go home I'll try to do the same thing as before even in limited time. In my temporary home, I'll find a way, and let's see how it goes here.

That's all for now, thank you so much for reading this far garden lovers. STAY SAFE AND KEEP PLANTING🧡💛💚

What a strange harvest. I've never seen such eggplants before. What we have here are 50 times thicker. Is that their usual size or are these exceptions?

That's actually the size of the fruit of our eggplants, but the first time they are harvested, they are bigger, after several harvests, they gradually get smaller. There are varieties here that we call native eggplant, they are small compared to the seeds that can be bought in the markets.

I wish you much success in your new job, even if you are far away from your garden, but it is necessary. Greetings🌻

Oh we did miss you last month - that explains it, you're working! I understand, but you must really miss putting energy into something so rewarding. Maybe you can grow some small things in pots. Is the family with you or are they at home? I'm glad you have some money coming in but I'll miss the garden updates from you!

Hello, @riverflows, I also miss what I used to do every first week of the month, but this is it and I'm busy with something else first. The sad thing is that the family is at home and I'm only renting a small room here near the company, it's also difficult for me to just take care of plants because apart from the small area and the soil is not good, I'm also on the graveyard shift and in the morning I'm really sleepy so I can get my strength back. But maybe I can bring some plants with me with soil, I love to have even just one plant to take care of too while I'm away. Thank you for missing me by the way, best regards!
