@luchyl you called it right. Plants can absolutely take hold in tiny roof cracks or ledges because moisture, dust, and trapped organic debris are often enough to support epiphytes and hardy ferns, which live off what the environment provides rather than deep soil, as explained by Gardenia and The Spruce. Your own thread nailed that exact idea—“life will always spring forth wherever there's water or moisture”—in this post.
