What Is Yagyopaveet (Janeu) ceremony!

Janeu ceremony holds great importance in Hinduism. It is one of the 16 major sacraments mentioned in Hindu scriptures. The Janeu is a white colored, sacred thread made of three streams of threads, worn from the left shoulder to the right. This event is known as Upanayana Sanskar in Sanatana Dharma, where Upanayana means "closer to God," and Yagyopaveeta Sanskar in Sanskrit.". Yajnopaveet is a compound word of Yajna and Upavit, which means to obtain the right to perform Yagya/Havan (Fire Yagya). without completing this ritual; Praying, reading, worshiping, doing business etc. have been said to be meaningless.

Hindu scriptures state that after performing the Upanayana rites, the sins of a child's previous births are cleansed. Consequently, it was believed that the child is reborn after this ceremony as the child becomes religiously holy only after performing this ritual. In ancient times, it was only after doing this that a child was educated, as it was believed that the janeu ceremony was important for the child's development and attainment of knowledge.

Why the Yagyopaveet (Upanayana) ceremony!

It is written in Vedtam Ramayana that the two castes who chant mantras and recite puja with slow intellect without performing sacrificial rituals, their chanting is fruitless and that fruit is harmful.
The words of Manu Maharaj are- Maturgreadhijanam second mauç†jabandne.
That is, the first birth takes place from the mother's stomach and the second one takes place by holding Yagyopaveet. The birth that takes place from the mother's womb is dominated by the rites of birth after birth. Good sanskars are made permanent by quenching bad sanskars through Yagyopaveet Sanskar.
This is called dvija i.e. second birth. Brahmins, Kshatriyas and Vaishyas are therefore called two castes. According to Manu Maharaj, a Dwij is not entitled to any action without performing the sacrificial rites.
Na hyasminyujyate karma kiç†chadamounji bandhanat. The child gets the right to do religious work only after performing the sacrificial rites. The attainment of the right of a person to perform all kinds of sacrifices is Yajnopaveet.
The meaning of wearing Yagyopaveet is to experience the virtuous duties of morality and humanity as an obligation on one's shoulders and attain God. It is written in Padmapuran Kaushal Kand that the sins committed in the knowledge and ignorance of crores of births are destroyed by wearing Yagyopaveet. It is written in Paraskaragrihmasutra 2/2/7, Just as Brihaspati gave Yagyopaveet to Indra, in the same way one should wear Yagyopaveet for the growth of life, strength, intelligence and wealth.
Wearing Yagyopaveet gives inspiration for pure character and duty. By wearing it, the living beings also attain the supreme position. That is, Yajnopaveet is a powerful means to attain divinity from humanity.
