Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt won gold medals in the hundred-metre and two hundred-metre races in 3 straight Olympic Games and his is considered the greatest sprinter ever. He was born in the year 1986 August 12 in his home town Montego Bay Jamaica.

As a kid he had great affection for European football giant Real Madrid and Manchester united, but his school coaches diverted his attention toward track and field because they saw a very good potential in him, he first marked himself as a track prodigy at the 2002 world minor championships.

Bolt made himself as a track prodigy at the year 2002, in the world junior championships, racing before a crowd of 36,000 in Jamaica’s National Stadium in Kingston, Bolt was 15 years old at the time and won gold in the 200 metres, becoming the youngest-ever male world junior champion. When he was sixteen years old he had the junior hundred-metre world record cut short to 20.13 seconds, also at seventeen he ran the event in 19.93 seconds, becoming the first underage to break 20 seconds in the race. But, he had a hamstring injury, which he made him failed to advance to the 200-metre at the 2004 Olympics in Athens and placed last in the 2005 world track-and-field championships final.

The world's fastest man stands at 6 foot 5 inches, yeah he is that tall🙃, Bolt defied the illusion or theory that most tall sprinters are at a disadvantage, in 2007 bolt won the silver medal in the 200 metre race at the world championship.

He was also given the opportunity to try out the 100 metre. He ran for an outstanding 10.03 metres for the first time in the event.

He went on to prove himself by lowering this record to 9.76 seconds, at that time it was the world's second fastest mark.

After 4 weeks bolt still went on to beat then world champion Tyson gay, with an outstanding 9.72 seconds in New York city

In 2008 Bolt bagged the following records;

  • 100 metres
  • 200 metres
  • 4 × 100-metre relay in a single Olympics
  • He was the first ever to set world records (9.69 seconds, 19.30 seconds, and 37.10 seconds, respectively).

Bolt was the first man since American carl lewis in the year 1984 to win all the events mentioned above in a single event.

In the year 2009 he did more by shattering his last record in the 100 metre race , he won the race with an outstanding 9.58 seconds .he didn't stop there, four days later he still broke his own record ,but this time in the 200 metre race ,with the same 0.11 second margin, bagging a second gold medal in the world's championships .

Although he had a setback when he had a false start in the 2011 world championships, he didn't give up as he still went on to bag gold medals in the 200 metre and 1×400 metre relay race .

In 2013 he still went on to win three gold medals at the world championships (100 metres, 200 metres, and 4 × 100-metre relay).

Also in the year 2015 he still won three gold medals in his three distinctive events(100 metre,200 metre,1×400 relay race) . This surely extended his records , as the most won consecutively in the competition.

He was finally named the worlds best sprinter in the year 2016 ,when he still won gold medals in the 200,100 and 1×400 metre relay races.

His career ended in 2017 ,when he retired following a disappointing run in the world championships, after sustaining serious injuries to his hamstring.

Bolt published a memoir, My Story: 9:58: The World’s Fastest Man (written with Shaun Custis), in 2010. It was expanded and reissued as The Fastest Man Alive: The True Story of Usain Bolt in 2012.

I looked at it last night and is way too short. Vote has to justify effort. If you take out the quotes at the back end it is like two paragraphs.
