Today, I'm incredibly excited to share with you my latest fan art piece, inspired by one of my favorite creatures from the vibrant world of @holozing. To all the amazing members of the @holozing community—thank you for your support and creativity, it constantly inspires me to grow as an artist.
For this piece, I decided to illustrate Emberox, the second evolution of the fire dragon in the Holozing universe. I reimagined this fierce and powerful creature in a cute anime chibi style, giving it a bold yet charming personality. Creating this artwork was an exhilarating experience—Emberox's intense, fiery nature combined with its adorable, miniature proportions made it a delight to bring to life. From its confident stance to its glowing lava-colored body, every detail felt like a spark of energy on my canvas.

Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes una obra muy especial que realicé con mucho cariño, inspirada en una de mis criaturas favoritas del maravilloso mundo de @holozing. A toda la increíble comunidad de @holozing—gracias por su apoyo constante y por tanta creatividad, que me inspira cada día a seguir creando.
Para esta ilustración, decidí realizar un fan art de Emberox, la segunda evolución del dragón de fuego del universo de Holozing. Quise representarlo en un estilo anime chibi, dándole una personalidad poderosa pero tierna a la vez. Trabajar en este dibujo fue una experiencia vibrante—la intensidad ardiente de Emberox combinada con su forma adorable y compacta me cautivó por completo. Desde su pose decidida hasta su cuerpo con colores que evocan lava, cada detalle fue como una chispa de energía sobre el lienzo.
Emberox is a majestic fire dragon, and in this chibi version, its strength is expressed through its stance and fiery design, despite the softness of its proportions. Its body is a deep, molten red, with soft gradients that evoke flowing lava. It has large, expressive violet-blue eyes that contrast beautifully with the warmth of its body, adding a layer of depth and charm. The dragon’s wings are broad and powerful, featuring a vivid blend of reds and oranges that seem to glow with inner heat.
Its tail curls at the end like a flickering flame, and its horns curve upward with a molten golden hue, hinting at its volcanic origin. Emberox is not wearing any clothing or accessories—it doesn’t need them. Its natural form is regal, fierce, and noble enough to stand on its own. The background, filled with rivers of lava and an erupting volcano, places Emberox in its natural, fiery habitat, enhancing the sense of heat and danger that defines its elemental power.
Emberox es un majestuoso dragón de fuego, y en esta versión chibi, su fuerza se expresa a través de su postura y diseño ígneo, a pesar de sus proporciones suaves. Su cuerpo es de un rojo intenso, con degradados suaves que evocan el flujo de la lava. Tiene grandes ojos expresivos de un azul violáceo que contrastan maravillosamente con la calidez de su cuerpo, aportando profundidad y encanto. Las alas del dragón son anchas y poderosas, con una mezcla vibrante de rojos y naranjas que parecen brillar con calor interior.
Su cola se curva al final como una llama danzante, y sus cuernos se elevan con un tono dorado fundido, haciendo alusión a su origen volcánico. Emberox no lleva ropa ni accesorios—no los necesita. Su forma natural es lo suficientemente regia, feroz y noble para destacar por sí sola. El fondo, con ríos de lava y un volcán en plena erupción, sitúa a Emberox en su hábitat natural, ardiente y salvaje, reforzando la sensación de calor y peligro que define su poder elemental.
Process / Proceso
I started the artwork by sketching a small but dynamic pose for Emberox, making sure its posture communicated confidence and strength. The sketch phase allowed me to experiment with proportions typical of the chibi style—big head, small body, and exaggerated features to maximize cuteness without losing the character's essence. I used soft lines to suggest the flow of movement and the curvature of its wings and tail.
Once I had a clean sketch, I moved on to the line art. I chose clean, bold lines to define Emberox’s silhouette, giving it a polished look that still preserved the warmth and energy of the sketch. The outlines of the wings and horns were especially important—I emphasized their shape to reflect Emberox’s majestic presence.
For the coloring phase, I focused on warm, rich tones. I used a palette of reds, oranges, and golden yellows, blending them to evoke the texture of molten lava. The eyes were a contrasting blue-violet, helping them stand out and draw attention. The overall color scheme was meant to reflect both the character’s element and its adorable appeal.
Then came the shading, where I added depth and form to Emberox’s body. I used a mix of soft and hard shadows to sculpt the volume, especially around the wings, limbs, and facial features. This gave it a more three-dimensional look and helped anchor the character to the scene.
Next, I added highlights to enhance the glowing effect. I placed bright, soft glows along the edges of the horns, wings, and tail, mimicking the light from the surrounding lava and the volcano in the background. This step brought the fire element to life and added a magical quality to the piece.
Finally, I created the background. I illustrated a dramatic volcanic landscape with an erupting volcano, thick smoke, and flowing rivers of lava. The background wasn’t just a setting—it became an extension of Emberox’s identity. The intense colors and flowing forms helped unify the composition and enhance the feeling of power and fire.
Comencé la ilustración bocetando una pose pequeña pero dinámica para Emberox, asegurándome de que su postura transmitiera confianza y fuerza. La fase del boceto me permitió experimentar con las proporciones típicas del estilo chibi—cabeza grande, cuerpo pequeño y rasgos exagerados para maximizar la ternura sin perder la esencia del personaje. Usé líneas suaves para sugerir el movimiento y la curvatura de sus alas y cola.
Una vez que tuve el boceto limpio, pasé al delineado. Opté por líneas firmes y definidas para marcar la silueta de Emberox, dándole un aspecto pulido que aún conservaba la calidez y energía del boceto. Las líneas de las alas y los cuernos fueron especialmente importantes—acentué sus formas para resaltar la presencia majestuosa de Emberox.
En la etapa de color, me concentré en tonos cálidos y ricos. Utilicé una paleta de rojos, naranjas y amarillos dorados, combinándolos para evocar la textura de la lava fundida. Los ojos los coloreé en azul violáceo, creando un contraste que capturara la atención. La paleta general de colores buscó reflejar tanto el elemento fuego del personaje como su ternura visual.
Luego pasé a las sombras, donde añadí profundidad y volumen al cuerpo de Emberox. Usé una mezcla de sombras suaves y duras para esculpir su forma, especialmente en las alas, extremidades y rostro. Esto le dio un aspecto más tridimensional y ayudó a anclarlo visualmente dentro de la escena.
A continuación, apliqué los brillos para realzar el efecto de luminosidad. Coloqué destellos suaves y brillantes en los bordes de los cuernos, alas y cola, simulando la luz del entorno volcánico. Este paso dio vida al elemento fuego del personaje y aportó un toque mágico a toda la composición.
Finalmente, creé el fondo. Ilustré un paisaje volcánico dramático con un volcán en erupción, humo espeso y ríos de lava. El fondo no fue solo un escenario—se convirtió en una extensión de la identidad de Emberox. Los colores intensos y las formas fluidas ayudaron a unificar la imagen y reforzar la sensación de poder y fuego.

Working on this fan art of Emberox was both energizing and fulfilling. I loved merging the strength of a powerful fire dragon with the playful charm of the chibi anime style. It’s always a joy to reinterpret a character and discover new facets of its personality through design. I hope you all enjoyed this fiery little dragon as much as I did creating it!
