Arya Stark Animated Style

Creating this fan art of Arya Stark was both an exciting and challenging process, and each stage of the illustration allowed me to explore different aspects of her character.

I started with a sketch that captured her combat pose. I wanted Arya to look determined and ready for action, so I made sure that her body position and the gesture of her hand holding the sword were dynamic. Sketching is always a crucial stage, where the essence of the character is established. Drawing Arya in a pose that reflected her indomitable spirit was key to convey the energy I was looking for in the illustration.

With the basic structure defined, I moved on to outlining. In this phase, I paid special attention to detail, making sure that each stroke was precise and clean. Outlining is like giving final shape to the character, and in Arya's case, I wanted her expression, her outfit and her Needle sword to have the sharpness and definition that reflect her strength and determination. I worked with lines that could highlight both her warrior look and the fluidity of the anime style.

The next step was coloring, where I really started to bring Arya to life. For her outfit, I opted for dark and sober tones, in line with the color palette we associate with her character and her journey in the series. The layers of color were carefully applied, seeking a balance between the somber palette and the more vivid accents seen in the details of her clothing and accessories. Here I also gave special attention to the tonality of her skin and the brightness in her eyes, key elements to maintain the emotional connection with the character.

After applying the base colors, I focused on the shadows. Shadows are essential for adding depth and volume to the illustration, and in this case, they helped emphasize the tension in his fighting stance. I worked the shadows to accentuate the curves of her body and the texture of her clothing, giving Arya a more tangible and realistic presence within the framework of the anime style.

Finally, I added the shimmers, which are the finishing touch that bring vitality and dynamism to the work. Applying sparkles at key points, such as on Needle's blade, the folds of her clothing, and in her eyes, gave the illustration a spark of life that contrasts with the shadows and highlights the most important features. These little sparkles also helped to better integrate Arya with the environment I created for her, a world where the epic and the fantastic meet.

The result is a reimagined Arya Stark that not only respects her essence, but amplifies it through the anime style. Each stage of the process was an opportunity to delve deeper into her character and capture it in a work that, I hope, captures the strength and determination that defines her.

Comencé con un boceto que capturara su pose de combate. Quería que Arya se viera decidida y lista para la acción, por lo que me aseguré de que la posición de su cuerpo y el gesto de su mano sosteniendo la espada fueran dinámicos. Trabajé con líneas que pudieran resaltar tanto su aspecto guerrero como la fluidez del estilo anime.

El siguiente paso fue el coloreado, donde realmente comencé a dar vida a Arya. Para su atuendo, opté por tonos oscuros y sobrios, en línea con la paleta de colores que asociamos con su carácter y su camino en la serie. Las capas de color fueron aplicadas con cuidado, buscando un equilibrio entre la paleta sombría y los acentos más vivos que se ven en los detalles de su vestimenta y accesorios. Aquí también di especial atención a la tonalidad de su piel y el brillo en sus ojos, elementos clave para mantener la conexión emocional con el personaje.

Después de aplicar los colores base, me centré en las sombras. Las sombras son esenciales para agregar profundidad y volumen a la ilustración, y en este caso, ayudaron a enfatizar la tensión en su postura de combate. Trabajé las sombras para que acentuaran las curvas de su cuerpo y la textura de su ropa, dándole a Arya una presencia más tangible y realista dentro del marco del estilo anime.

Finalmente, añadí los brillos, que son el toque final que aporta vitalidad y dinamismo a la obra. Aplicar brillos en los puntos clave, como en la hoja de Aguja, los pliegues de la ropa, y en sus ojos, le dio a la ilustración una chispa de vida que contrasta con las sombras y resalta las características más importantes. Estos pequeños destellos también ayudaron a integrar mejor a Arya con el entorno que creé para ella, un mundo donde lo épico y lo fantástico se encuentran.
