The Fruits of Labor : Capturing the abundance of freshly picked fruits as a reward of hardwork in farming
“The journey of a thousand harvests begins with a single seed. Here in Cebu City , farmer's in every harvest, were happy gathered the fruits of their labor. They're hands tell stories of toil and triumph and a success in farming is the fruit of labor seasoned with patience and determination.

I'm happy to witness how people in Sudlon,Cebu determined and patiently waited the time to perfectly harvest an avocado and bananas.

June and July is a perfect month of Harvesting avocado.. I'm fortunate I got the chance to visit my brother in law's farm in Southern Part of Cebu. They're in his farm ,I appreciate how this kind of living is very important to them. It became their way of getting food and at the same time their source of income.

A lot of tips were given by my brother in law during the harvesting of avocados. That to harvest an avocado, a harvesting pole is being set up, this is just a long bamboo pole, attached to it is a small net.
It's used to catch the avocado during harvest time without any damages of the fruit, the avocados are carefully picked using the net.

The son's of my brother in law take turned during the harvest of the avocado, they also helped their father climbing up the trees. It's not easy to pick fruits because it really grows on the top of each branches. Sometimes it's a need to climb up above to harvest many avocados.

We brought with us a piece of sack and we placed all the picked avocados in it. We transferred places and walked down at the other area of the farm and found a lot of avocado trees with lots of fruits downward.

I'm happy capturing photos this moment. I can't helped but to take pictures every harvesting activity they did.
I can see that my brother in law asked some bamboo poles when we reached the farm. Avocados were picked using the traditional harvester. My in laws said that they see to it that avocados must be harvested when they're already mature, meaning they reached to their full grown or full size. Or you can always look at or check the avocado skin when harvesting and they see to it, it's already dark green in color and it's already firm when it's being pressed.

How excited I am to see the green shiny matured avocado when touching it with my two bare hands. There's an excitement and happiness and can't wait to finally see the avocados ripened.
According to my brother in law, these varieties of avocado is so delicious when it ripened because this variety is called an evergreen.
It's flesh tasted creamy and sweet.

And so a lot of avocados are placed on that sack, these are mixed in variety there's an evergreen, while the other variety of avocados, it's skin will become dark colored when ripened.

We also harvested lots of bananas.
It's a perfect timing that bananas are also ready to harvest.
So we also picked it up. And lots of fruits are placed on our sack.

After harvesting, we take a rest for a while and carry a sack with full of avocados and bananas.. It's so satisfying to accompany my in law in the farm, though it takes a lot of effort to collect half a sack of avocado and a bunch of bananas but it's a happy feeling and rewarding seeing, carrying and going home bringing the abundant harvest.

My brother in law took a lot of effort to carry everything. Were very grateful that he brought us to his farm and appreciate the beauty of living in the farm simply.
This time, it's clear to me now, that in the near future I want to own and run my own farm. Because I see how beautiful living life in a simplier way.
This would be all for now..And see you in my next farm visit...Bye👋👋😍
