Restoring Our Sustainable Community School Garden: Students and Teachers Helped One Another To Bring it back

Hello @hivegarden 🤗
I wanted to share some updates regarding the newly restored school garden. This garden was being neglected for how many months already because of being busy from lots of different activities in school. I don't have any time to visit the school garden after the opening block classes started last June 28.This time I'm happy to tell that we had already some time restoring our school garden. Though lots of activities to be done, to restore it, students and teachers were encouraged to contribute some things to the garden.

I'm happy I'm back and I got the chance to visit now because aside from its part of our curriculum. I came to visit the school garden to check whether plants were really growing after planting the seeds. Now they're seedlings, healthier and ready to get transplanted soon.

I let the students do some cleaning at the garden. Let them transfer the soil from the garden site.

A Gulayan sa Paaralan was being restored , now that it's integrated back back to our curriculum. This curriculum aimed to help the students to explore and learn the basics of gardening activity.

They're transferring the soil. I let them bring some healthy and black soil to be used during planting. There's still a lot of plants to fill in the empty galloons.

Students also were being trained how to do sustainable gardening like they're gonna used some recycled empty bottles. Teachers helped one another. Students were bringing seeds, seedlings and other variety of vegetable plants.

I'm so glad that the learners were still able to utilize these old materials in the garden. With the helped of the teachers, these old and empty plastics and cans were very useful after all. It helped a lot in restoring a sustainable school garden. Plastics of not used, were used as pots.

Each of the students performed well on the tasks given to them. The different garden tasks were divided among each students. Some watred the plants, and some were filling in the plastics pots with soil, and others were cleaning the garden too..

A seedlings of green leafy vegetables ( pechay) , an eggplant, tomato and a lemon grass were some of the variety of plants planted in our garden.
This restoration of our school garden after some time of neglecting it, brought back to its life.

With our little accomplishments for today, I could say that these young minds of our learners need so much guidance and support to let them learn a new skill that's applicable in their life-- a sustainable growth of the garden.

Wow! It looks awesome and creative.
It reminded me of my elementary and high school days when I brought compost for the plants.
We even made our own plot, and made sure to do our best in beautifying it because our grades depended on it. I was happy seeing kids helping and contributing with school activities like this. ♥️

@emminemsss wow I'm so happy to know that you're also productive during your elem and high school days...
For sure you're bringing all the knowledge the school had taught you about agriculture and apply it in your life today...great is my feeling that there's still kids who are willing and interested in Agriculture subject
