Do long-distance relationships really work?

We met in the blogosphere, right here in Hive, and our relationship has only grown stronger. We do have differences of opinions, but often end up on the same page, as we see the wisdom behind one of our partners' argument, or rather vision.

I believe that having an open mind, and listening to the other partner, after all, is the secret to lasting relationships, right?

I hear some of you ask!

Where is she going with this story?

I had seen the lovely super-efficient @fionasfavourites, our Silver Flower around, and liked what I saw read. The union first started when @papilloncharity, or Sterling Silver as he is known in our fold, played Cupid and arranged an online Hivesphere blind date ;).

Nevertheless, after a lengthy much engagement, we very soon formalized our partnership with the running of the Silver Bloggers Community. As our community grew, Fiona and I soon realized we needed more partners hands on deck, so joined a dating site started scouting around for talent.

Now, you all know the teams running Hive Blogging Communities started 'working remotely' way before Covid, even though they weren't called communities back then.

At the time, an unscrupulous man with bad intentions took over the old blockchain and stole the funds from our biggest investors. Cheating your partner/s is abhorrent!

A divorce took place that made headlines in the Blogosphere, but guess what - a new relationship was formed and became our beloved Hive, a place where we share our life stories.

Sadly there still are those who bully, but as a famous television reality show judge said to one talented contestant:

Bullies feel threatened by talented people, so in a weird way, it is a compliment!

Back to our long-distance relationship; when we made a commitment to each other work together and nurture our beloved Silver Bloggers Community, loyalty and integrity were a given.

I met @mondoshawan our Dude Silvers way back on the old blockchain over a Sandwich or two! We needed someone who thinks outside the box, so he was roped into our partnership, and he became our official Discord DJ and techno-wizard who keeps us up to speed on happenings in the Hivesphere.

Fiona met the talented @coquicoin, the lovely Silver Cat through Love Sniper, which really sounds like another dating site, don't you agree? Eli said 'Yes' when we proposed asked her to hop on board as we needed a Moderator, a role she has excelled at.

The union still was not complete, we needed another man to watch over us and enrich our relationship. Eli had met Super Ed through another Hive dating site, not sure what it was called, but @tengolotodo, our Silver Scot, said 'aye' to our proposal, in true Scottish fashion. Ed has been a real busybody, taking us Silver Bloggers right out of our comfort zone by introducing new experiences and challenges, even bringing a Silver Lion into the fold!

Despite being separated by continents, our union has been going strong, and while Fiona and I have been facing the worst time of our lives, our Silver Bloggers partners have simply taken over the reins as and when needed.

I will be eternally grateful to all of you in this union and will be leaving a little thank you gift in your wallet a little later tonight.
