Weeds or weeds can grow anywhere, and their presence is very disturbing and unwanted, especially in plantations.

Weeds that grow in plantations will fight for nutrients and nutrients
fertilizers with cultivated plants and sometimes even weeds are also able to block and clog drains or drainage, and of course that is very annoying.

Starting from this, today I will show you all what I do to control weeds in my oil palm plantation.

In the beginning this garden was a scrub forest left by my late father, in which there were many old and no longer productive areca palm trees, so that made me decide to clean up this garden by cutting down all the areca palm trees and starting to cultivate oil palm trees, remembering to Nowadays, oil palm is having a very good trend from an economic and business perspective.

Because oil palm is an old plant that has a long lifespan, I intercropped in this garden by planting papaya trees while waiting for the oil palms to grow big and be harvestable.

Before planting papayas, I first planted palms in a row with a distance of 9 x 9 meters and had about 300 stems in an area of 3 hectares.

Actually, I clean this garden regularly, but because of the high intensity of rain for the past 2 months, I can't go to my garden and weeds grow prolifically.

You can see for yourself how weeds really interfere with the growth of my papaya, coupled with bad weather conditions for 2 months in a row it rained without stopping.

I will invite you to take a tour of my garden which is under the hill, where it is clear that weeds are growing so lush and thick, and it makes me have to work hard to eradicate them and remove them from my garden, this is so that my palms can grow faster.

A few days ago I cleared about 1 meter of weeds from the base of the palm tree, and we call it a disc, the goal is so that when I spray weeds the weed killer herbicide poison doesn't get on the palm tree trunks, and after cleaning it near the base of my palm tree provide a little urea fertilizer whose purpose is to fertilize the palm tree trunks and also to kill and prevent new weed seeds from growing.

Actually I can control weeds by cutting them with a lawn mower, but based on my experience I prefer to control weeds by spraying weed killer herbicides, apart from being cost-effective, it also takes longer for weeds to grow.

Before spraying, my friend cleans the drainage channels in the garden to collect the water we will use to kill weeds.

Now I'm going to show you the poison herbicide and weed control that I use

Below is the dose that I use to measure the herbicide poison that I use, for 1 spray tank measuring 15 liters of water I use 2 caps or 100 ml of herbicide poison.

The picture below is an illustration done by my friend, remember, that it is only an illustration, which shows that all herbicide poisons cannot be taken, they are very dangerous, even if drunk they can be deadly.

The first thing to do is mix all the herbicide poisons into one place, considering that each herbicide poison has its own function, and will have super strong power to kill weeds when mixed.

After all the herbicide poisons are well mixed, then fill the tank with water until it is full, and place the tank on a slightly higher place, don't make mistakes like my friend did, he put the spray tank on the ground directly, so he had to sit down to lift the spray tank to over his back.

What must be considered is wearing complete clothing, such as long sleeves, hats and masks to avoid poisoning by mouth.

Based on my experience, exterminating weeds by spraying using herbicide poisons can eradicate weeds very well, and after one week after spraying, the weeds will look dead and completely charred.
