My Actifit Report Card: August 3 2022
My friend and I played a couple of rounds of disc golf today. On the Kayak Red course, we both were having a difficult time but I ended up winning with a +11 to a +16. It was colder this morning and when it started warming up the wind started swirling around a lot. I think both of us were a bit cold right at the start of the round as well.
I ended up going four over par on a par four hole after I lost a disc and had to rethrow. The disc I threw first was getting a bit understable and it flew off into the woods after turning a bit too hard. Maybe someone will find it someday. I don't think it is too deep in the woods but we looked for a while and could not find it. From where I threw it I could not get a good look at where it went.
On the Kayak Gold course, we were both doing better (relative to the difficulty of the course) but I did not score the round. We were not planning to play the entire course but we ended up playing everything but one hole.
A very strange-looking large hornet that flew into my car today on the way back from the course:
I should probably not drive with the window open. This hornet hit the side of the window frame and bounced onto my shoulder. From there it dropped onto my crotch. I was wearing short pants and was worried about getting stung, so I flicked the hornet onto the carpet while trying to stay on the road, lol.
The hornet was pretty messed up from hitting the car at high speed but still tried to move around on the floor. I put it out in the yard when I got home.

Hey @lightsplasher! I am glad you were not stung! I've been stung by hornets before and they are one of the worst! How big was this guy? It looks a lot like the Giant Northern Hornet.

I think the hornet was around an inch in length. I've been stung by a smaller hornet (or wasp?) before once when I inadvertently disturbed a nest that was forming inside a propane bottle cover. They keep on going like an Eveready bunny, lol. (This might not have ended well since there was no place to pull over and deal with the situation on the busy roadway.)
By the coloring, I'm thinking it is the Giant Northern Hornet.
You are right-they are like the Energizer Bunny, lol! (but not very fun)

I was pretty lucky that it did not get stuck under my shirt or worse yet inside my shorts. I've had that happen and it is not fun for the insect or human, lol.

That is one seriously large hornet. This was not nearly that big at somewhere around an inch in length.

As far as I know it is a horrible insect. Its sting causes great pain and swelling of the body part.
It is best to avoid getting them upset that is for sure.
looks like your golf game today is very cause. it is very dangerous to drive with the windows open, especially if a large bee gets into the car and falls on our lap it will cause our concentration to be uncertain, one I applaud your attitude. you don't kill him instead let go
I was very happy not be stung by the hornet and thought I should give it some peaceful last moments in the garden.
