Underestimated - lake Kerkini, Greece

Greetings!

Sometimes I think that lake Kerkini national natural reserve park in Northern Greece is intentionally kept outside of the "loop", sort of speak. 'Cause every time I travel there or review my photos from the several visits we paid to this amazing place, prove to me this is a hugely underestimated destination. It is suitable very very much for the bird lovers as there are huge flocks of migratory birds during certain months and seasons. Probably there are tens maybe hundreds of thousands of birds. Multiple observations decks have been built solely for the purpose of birdwatching. However, some of them have turned into ruins, some of them were locked every time we checked them. Anyway, there are plenty of other things to enjoy, watch and discover around the lake and the park, even if you aren't into birdwatching and wildlife ;) The wetlands have their charm. The views towards the surrounding mountains. Also, for instance, the water buffalos and the related products, offered in local shops and restaurants, are a must try ;)
