Мysteries of Plovdiv

Life. History.

Traditions. Typical architecture.

Intransience of time. Passion.

A place, established by the Thracians and explored by the Romans.

A place, built with stones but full of warm feeling and emotions.

I hope you'll see and feel at least a tiny part of what I felt that day.

You probably know by now how much I love Black & White or sometimes referred as Monochromatic photography. I have always believed that while Color Photography shows the external part of our world, Black and White Photography shows the soul, the inner hidden side of everything. Please consider the first photo of this post as my entry today to the established #monomad daily contest by @monochromes, supported by @qurator, thank you everyone for your hard and continuous efforts to build and grow this great community!

Been there 15 years ago on summer vacation, still remembering it as a small and cozy place with pebbled beaches, thanks for this tbt.

Thank you :)

I think you mean another place? Plovdiv is a big city with no access to the sea.

Even though the photo is colorless, it looks very cool, there is a lot of story in it.
Cool, but I haven't been able to find suitable moments for black and white photos, you are great at this.
Thank you for the way you shot this scene, for me this might be useful knowledge.
Have a nice day @lightcaptured 🥰🥰🤗🤗

Thank you.
The preview screen of my camera is 99% of the time set on B&W. This allows better to see the contrasts, shapes, focus, generally it gives better first "sense" of whether the photo is "good".
All modern cameras handle the colors well so can be trusted and even if there is a fail, when shooting in RAW it is easy to fix the colors later in post-processing.
Have a nice one too!

Yes, even though the photo is black and white, the contrast must be constant. guarded.
Thank you for your knowledge 🤗🤗
