[ESP-ENG] Probando nuestras habilidades de supervivencia en "La Coca"

Hola! muchos me han animado a seguir escribiendo sobre mis viajes y acampadas, asi que vengo a escribirles acerca de otro lugar que visité hace ya un tiempo. Aún el día de hoy no se como llegamos a saber de él o de su localización pues está ubicado en una zona super apartada de la ciudad. Campo Florido nos dijeron que se llamaba, no puedo asegurar esa información, pero si puedo decirles con certeza que en donde pasamos la noche es en una presa que se llama "La Coca".

Hello! many have encouraged me to continue writing about my travels and camping trips, so I come to write about another place I visited some time ago. Even today I don't know how we got to know about it or its location because it is located in a super secluded area of the city. Campo Florido we were told it was called, I can't be sure of that information, but I can tell you with certainty that where we spent the night is in a dam called "La Coca".

¿Cómo llegamos? Eso si lo recuerdo, fuimos hasta Guanabo y allí cogimos una guagua super extraña, la C3, que con mucho temor montamos hasta que nos dejó cerca de esa presa. Caminamos y a medida que nos adentrabamos menos arrepentidos estabamos, pues visualmente era un paraíso. Habían prados y claros con flores, pinos y árboles, montañas y un pequeño lago que no era ideal para bañarse pero era hermoso.

How did we get there? That I do remember, we went to Guanabo and there we took a very strange bus, the C3, which we rode with great fear until it left us near that dam. We walked and the deeper we got, the less regretful we were, because visually it was a paradise. There were meadows and clearings with flowers, pines and trees, mountains and a small lake that was not ideal for swimming but it was beautiful.

Al llegar en seguida empezamos a trabajar en los 2 requisitos principales de cada excursión, comida y resguardo. Fuimos a buscar ramas para hacer nuestro refugio, trabajamos duro y al final quedó fuerte y resistente, bastante bien para ser el primero. Luego algunos fueron a buscar leña y rocas para hacer una fogata mientras otros nos quedamos haciendo un coctel de frutas. Cuando el fuego estuvo listo cocinamos boniatos al carbón y pollo a la parrilla, le dimos un toque aromático con menta silvestre que encontramos en el campo.

When we arrived we immediately started working on the 2 main requirements of every excursion, food and shelter. We went to look for branches to make our shelter, we worked hard and in the end it was strong and resistant, quite good for the first one. Then some of us went to look for firewood and rocks to make a fire while others of us stayed to make a fruit cocktail. When the fire was ready we cooked sweet potatoes over charcoal and grilled chicken, we gave it an aromatic touch with wild mint we found in the field.

No hay nada más satisfactorio que sentirte realizado por algo que hiciste bien, y ese era nuestro sentir en común. Al hacerse de noche pusimos música y empezamos a bailar al rededor de nuestra fogata. Este lugar esta tan alejado de todo que no había una persona que pudiera interrumpirnos o a quien pudieramos molestar, pues nadie pasaba por ahí con frecuencia.

There is nothing more satisfying than feeling accomplished for something you did well, and that was our common feeling. As night fell we put on some music and started dancing around our campfire. This place is so far away from everything that there wasn't a person who could interrupt us or bother us, as no one passed by very often.

El amanecer fue increíble, la mejor parte de mis viajes es quedarme viendo el paisaje y no pensar en otra cosa que lo maravillosa que es la naturaleza, creo que todos debemos hacer eso, parar todas las cosas que estamos haciendo y admirar la grandeza y belleza del mundo en el que vivimos, por lo menos 5 minutos. No podríamos irnos de ese lugar sin mojarnos aunque sea, asi que antes de irnos decidimos bañarnos en la presa. Al principio estaba escéptica, estaba cansada, con sueño, me sentía sucia y solo podía pensar en que tendría que hacer un viaje super largo pero lo hice de todos modos. A pesar de que el fondo estaba lleno de rocas y el agua no era la más cristalina, ese momento fue super refrescante y reparador. Todo estaba tranquilo, el agua dulce hizo que me relajara de manera que cuando salí me sentía limpia y descansada, lista para hacer el viaje de vuelta a casa.

The sunrise was amazing, the best part of my trips is to just stand there watching the scenery and not think about anything else but how wonderful nature is, I think we should all do that, stop all the things we are doing and admire the grandeur and beauty of the world we live in, for at least 5 minutes. We couldn't leave that place without getting wet at least, so before we left we decided to take a swim in the dam. At first I was skeptical, I was tired, sleepy, felt dirty and could only think that I would have to make a super long trip but I did it anyway. Even though the bottom was full of rocks and the water was not the most crystalline, that moment was super refreshing and restorative. Everything was calm, the fresh water made me relax so that when I got out I felt clean and rested, ready to make the trip back home.

Fue una experiencia única, pues a diferencia de mis otras excursiones fuimos como quien dice "al desnudo", sin casa de campaña ni comida hecha, fuimos a probar nuestras habilidades de supervivencia y eso francamente me encantó. Este tipo de viajes no hay necesidad de hacerlos tan extremos, si no te gustan o no te crees capaz de hacerlo es tan simple como llevar todo lo que necesites en lugar de improvisar como nosotros y puede que hasta la pases mejor. Siempre voy a recordar este día como el día que nos probamos a nosotros mismos y me siento preparada para hacerlo de nuevo. It was a unique experience, because unlike my other excursions we went as it were "naked", without a tent or prepared food, we went to test our survival skills and frankly I loved it. This kind of trips there is no need to make them so extreme, if you don't like them or you don't think you are able to do it, it is as simple as taking everything you need instead of improvising as we did and you might even have a better time. I will always remember this day as the day we proved ourselves and I feel ready to do it again. I hope you liked this new journey I brought you and thanks for reading.
