El origen del ojo turco, remonta al principio del siglo XVI, en el Mediterráneo oriental, sin embargo, la imagen del ojo, tal como le conocemos, es asociado con el antiguo Egipto, quienes tenían el conocido "Ojo de Horus", al que se le atribuía el poder de proteger la vista a los vivos, así como de protección en el alma de los difuntos.

En Marruecos, se le conoce con el nombre de "Nazar", el cual se observa de manera frecuente en la Mano de Fátima o hamsa, un amuleto que se visualiza de manera común en la entrada de los hogares, cuna de niños, cajas registradoras, prometiendo alejar miradas mal intencionadas y atracción de prosperidad a su poseedor; su color varía dependiendo de lo que se desea cuidar y proteger.

En ésta oportunidad les presento un tutorial de una delicada pulsera, que puedes realizar para obsequiar a ese ser querido, al que deseas proteger.

Materiales

  • Un ojo turco
  • Cristales o piedras naturales pequeñas
  • Hilo de seda de 1mm
  • Hilo de bisutería, calibre nro. 20
  • Telar para pulseras
  • Herramientas de bisutería (pinzas de corte, plana, cónica)
  • Tijeras
  • Yesquero

Procedimiento a seguir

Como puedes ver en las imágenes, el proceso es muy sencillo, el primer paso es realizar el motivo central: tomaremos el hilo de bisutería calibre nro. 22 y realizaremos un nudo rosario, justo antes de cerrar, colocaremos el corazón con el ojo turco; repetimos el nudo rosario en el otro extremo.

A continuación, colocaremos a cada lado 30cm de hilo de seda, doblado a la mitad, para dar mayor estabilidad a la pulsera, ajustamos los extremos con nudos franciscanos y colocamos la pieza en el telar de pulseras, para proceder a realizar el tejido de macramé.

Cortaremos un metro de hilo de seda y procedemos a realizar nudos planos a cada lado del motivo central; cuando llegues a 7cm, realiza doble nudo, corta y con ayuda del yesquero, sella los extremos con el fuego, de esta manera, evitaremos que se deshagan los nudos.

Una vez que ambos extremos estén listos, cruzaremos los extremos y realizaremos nuevamente 2cm de nudos planos, así daremos forma a la pulsera.

Sólo resta colocar un balín o redondel dorado en ambos extremos, nivelar las puntas, anudar, cortar y nuevamente sellar los extremos; ya quedará lista para usar nuestra bonita pulsera.

La imaginación es el límite, así que puedes mezclar elementos, texturas y colores, lo que sean de tu preferencia y que se adapten al outfit apropiado que necesitas.

In this opportunity I present a tutorial of a delicate bracelet, you can make to give to that loved one, you want to protect.

Materials

  • A Turkish eye
  • Crystals or small natural stones
  • 1mm silk thread
  • Costume jewellery thread, size 20 gauge
  • Bracelet loom
  • Jewellery tools (cutting pliers, flat, conical)
  • Scissors
  • Tinder

Procedure to follow

As you can see in the pictures, the process is very simple, the first step is to make the central motif: we will take the 22 gauge costume jewellery thread and we will make a rosary knot, just before closing, we will place the heart with the Turkish eye; we repeat the rosary knot at the other end.

Next, place 30cm of silk thread on each side, folded in half, to give greater stability to the bracelet, adjust the ends with Franciscan knots and place the piece on the bracelet loom to proceed with the macramé weaving.

Cut a metre of silk thread and proceed to tie flat knots on each side of the central motif; when you reach 7cm, tie a double knot, cut and, with the help of the tinder, seal the ends with fire to prevent the knots from coming undone.

Once both ends are ready, cross the ends and tie 2cm of flat knots again to give the bracelet its shape.

All that remains is to place a golden ball or roundel at both ends, level the ends, knot, cut and seal the ends again; our beautiful bracelet is now ready to wear.

Imagination is the limit, so you can mix elements, textures and colours, whatever you prefer and whatever suits the appropriate outfit you need.
