Daniel Swarovsky, a renowned craftsman of his time, after studying and specialising in electrical engineering in Paris and Vienna under the guidance of his mentor, the engineer Frantisek Krizik, patented the first electric machine in 1895, capable of making delicate cuts in glass, facilitating the production of jewellery. In the early days, he had to team up with investors in Austria to help him with the high energy consumption the machine needed to operate, so he took advantage of the region's hydroelectric system.

The Swarovsky factory is closed to the public: the combination of materials used to create the crystals is a secret, but it is certain that they do not use lead as in its beginnings.

It is interesting to know that a rudimentary craft, started by Daniel Swarovsky's father, has a relevant presence in the present for those of us who dedicate ourselves to the production of costume jewellery. The choice of high quality raw materials is essential and appreciated by artisans and by those who wear unique pieces, full of history.

Once again I come with a very delicate and simple tutorial that I am sure you will love; it is a bracelet full of sparkle, made with original imported Swarovsky crystals, a gift from a great friend who on a trip to Austria took the time to choose a range of crystals that I love...!!!!
