Small Sketch

Just a quick small sketch of an Italian Heavy Metal band, so no, it's not Jesus. What I liked about this image was the simple shadow shapes.

A fellow Hiver has seeded the idea to do some quick acrylic paint studies instead. When I decide what surface I'll paint those on, I'll commit to those. Such small colour studies should be good training for working on larger more complex paintings.

I have a number of polished artworks on the go. I'm close to being able to post something about those. But for now, it will be more of the sketches.

Do you have to do one or the other? Could you do sketchies some days and acrylic paint studies on other days depending on how you feel? Not gonna complain either way as long as we get to see ;D

I can certainly do either of both. 😀
I'm ping ponging between multiple projects anyway at the moment, including programming.

I'm familiar with pingponging between multiple projects XD though I'm now down a lot with projects and just pingponging between different things and wondering how anyone else ever gets anything done and if there's just something wrong with me XD

How do you get everything done?

I look at these "influencer" bloggers and wonder how they produce new online and offline content. But I guess it is somewhat misleading when I look at multiple.

So, on that topic, one way I improve my productivity, is to look at less of those "influencers".

But one good tip I did hear recently, was to stop checking in on how my posts are doing, to move from expecting to expectancy. Expecting is akin to watching the clock, while expectancy is getting on with the task at hand knowing that clock will take care of itself, because there is nothing you can do to influence it.

This applies to social media posts. Once they are out there, the job is done. Next! Similarly attending to comments should be handled similarly, just once or so a day.

This has freed up my focus to put it where it is needed, that being my own productivity. It's early days yet. I could still slide back in to bad habits.

I'm also making a conscious decision to arrange and execute tasks. For instance, the sketches I know take a limited amount of time. So if I schedule then first, I've already achieved something for the day. I know they won't make any time blowouts, so that means I can then move on to the more intensive activities that might have over run.

Using the common meal breaks in the day is also a good way to draw a line under certain activities, even if incomplete and then start the next project following the break. That way I'm making progress on multiple things.

I am generally determined to stay on top of comments as best I can ^_^; (not to the extent where I need to answer notifications immediately) The posts can just...do whatever they're doing though, they'll either do well or they won't, I gave up on marketing ages ago, wasted too much time I'd rather spend doing stuff.

Thanks, keeping some of that in mind, I'm still trying to figure out how to get "everythinng" I need to do done and some of your tips sound useful :D

Well, I didn't stay on top of this comment did I? 😄

I've been avoiding answering comments.

Yes, I too have also become somewhat unmotivated to market. I've never seemed to done online marketing right and still struggle to build and reach an audience. Hive receives most of my attention these days because at least I receive something for my efforts.
