Before the Harvest - oil painting

This little landscape is inspired by the many wheat and barley #fields I've seen over the Summer. The wheat is all harvested now. I miss the sea of that these crops made as the wind blew across them. I'll have to wait for next year to come with a new crops.

I worked with a limited palette of Titanium White, Paynes Grey, Van Dyck Brown, Cadmium Red, Cadmium Yellow.

Were you inspired by going out and standing in the fields? :D (I can't shake horror movie vibes though, seen too many where people are running through cornfields XD) As much as I'm thingi about monoculture, crop fields do look very pretty when the wind is rippling across them.

Ha ha, there's a corn field at the bottom of the garden. 😀 I think more along the lines of X-Files with aliens hiding in the corn waiting to abduct you. But in reality, the only thing likely to jump out are deer.
