Arise II - a message of hope
This is a reworking of an older artwork of mine. It is a message of hope, being able to rise above it all.
Over the years many people asked me about the original which has a home already, until someone finally persuaded me to paint a new version of it for them as a print of it would just not do.
This version is smaller than the original I made some variation to the image as I had progressed painting since I first painted it.
I'll include some of the progress shots of the painting.
Sometimes the initial outline and value statement I find extremely appealing as it has a very graphic art quality to it.
At this state the artwork has an impressionist feel and the raw brushstrokes give it a great sense of energy. It is always a challenge to try to keep this in the final artwork.
