¡Action-Packed weekend!
Hello friends Hivers and Weekend Experiences, I tell you that I have had very active days, especially on weekends; For this reason, I want to share with you one of the many experiences I have had and that at the same time it is so beautiful to be able to take a day or hours of our time to be able to do something that impacts other lives for the better and they can think that although their living condition is difficult God will always be there to help you.
We have been going out Saturday after Saturday to visit hospitals in our city of Maracaibo, Zulia state-Venezuela, with the purpose of bringing a word of hope, bringing the gospel and working to be of help to the most vulnerable at this time. The first of them was the Chiquinquirá Hospital and some squares near it in the center of Maracaibo.
One of the anecdotes of the visit to this health center is that we went by micro bus with a small cart and bags of food, a filter with juice, added to our bags and other things, to take the tour in the hospital as well as center of the city and although perhaps it was a bit heavy to carry those things, tedious and complicated perhaps for many people to move them, not for each of us, since we enjoy the work that we have been doing with a lot of love.
While there, we were able to enter the rooms and wards where the patients were, be able to say a prayer for them and provide lunch for each one; as well as those who were in extreme need in the squares of the central part of Maracaibo.
Another Saturday we were at the University Hospital of Maracaibo, from early hours we were active in preparing food to bring a delicious "Fororo"; I make a parenthesis here to tell those who read these lines and are from another country and may not know what it is, this is ground toasted corn and it is prepared with liquid milk, sugar over medium heat and the result is a thick and very nutritious food. On the other hand, we placed the bread in bags of two for each person, so that it could be delivered more easily and healthily to those who were in the hospital.
To get to the place we rode in a truck in the back of it, in the middle of the road a few drops of soft drizzle fell on us. Upon arrival we took down all the things and began to invite people to come and receive a Word from God and share with them the refreshment that we brought especially for each one, making both the shared word and this special for their lives at the moment of being. waiting to be treated at the hospital or waiting for a family member who has been admitted to this health center.
Well, on Saturday, October 28, we spent the morning at this Hospital; which, turning to history since the 19th century, begins in the heart and thoughts of Joaquín Esteva Parra, who had this project in mind. The Maracaibo University Hospital was built as such in the 20th century, as part of the public works program carried out during the dictatorship of General Marcos Pérez Jiménez; Due to the fall of this government, its construction was paralyzed and then continued later and it was not until November 18, 1960 that its inauguration took place. It has always been a hospital full of so many stories, such as, for example, that in its facilities was where the first kidney transplant was carried out in 1967 by the Zulian Doctor Bernardo Rodríguez Iturbe.
Being a public health and historical place in our beloved Zulia land and which is so busy at any time of the day, we were not going to leave it out of doing this beautiful work and helping others in some way.
To close this content, I tell you that it is very gratifying to our hearts to be able to do this wonderful work on Saturdays and see support for it. On the other hand, being able to see the faces of people who light up with this action and demonstration of love not only in words but with actions. Certainly words in a life go a long way, they lift your spirits, motivate, provide hope and so many things, but the example of action with love is the reflection of a good heart that truly loves others regardless of whether it is someone close to you. , from your same social circle or not. For this reason, there is a very popular saying or saying out there, which says:
"Do good without looking at whom."
