Project Blank UI in Closed Alpha | What's the Release Date for Open Alpha?
The Project Blank UI has been coming along really well. ICYMI: we have spent a disproportionate amount of time in the past 6 months building an entirely new UI from scratch.
This UI was originally intended to be Project Blank - a Spinoff project to rival Twitter.
Over the past 1-2 years, we've learned a lot in this industry. We've taken those lessons and decided not to do a spinoff UI and spinoff token from LEO.
Instead, we merged Project Blank and LeoFinance and made the LEO token the core of both.
Now, we'll have 1 unified UI. An "Everything App" to rule all other UIs.
This UI will have a lot of core features but likely the most important is usability.
When you immediately open the App, it looks like Twitter. As you start to dive deeper, you start to realize that there is a lot more beneath the surface - long-form content, HIVE wallet, LEO wallet.... etc.
But on the front page, you see a "clone" of twitter in many ways. You see an experience that is familiar and easy to get started with.
Our goal this year is to 1). release the UI to Open Alpha and then replace leofinance.io with it in Q1 2023. 2). Spend the rest of 2023 grinding to get to 5,000 monthly active users.

I am glad you ditched the spinoff token idea. Personally I think the spinoff and LEO would suffer, this way all the focus is on LEO!

Having a unified UI for both short-form and long-form content is simple genius, and I think getting with such an app before others (even Twitter) will represent a market advantage. I can barely wait to see the new product and dive into it fully.

One more improvement I want to see is a good "Promote" feature where users can burn LEO to be on top. Currently there is no way for a new user to get notices without burning a large amount of LEO.
What if there were specific promoted spots which will be occupied by posts based on the amount of LEO they have burned. I suggest a system that work similar to PoS. Anyone can reach front page by burning as little as 1 LEO, but the time they will spend there will be proportional to their burn compared to all others burning LEO.
As a user who have been burning small amounts of LEO for promoting, I will find myself burning more LEO if there was a better system. Best of Luck!

I am more pumped about the new notification portal you have been referring to. Notification system is heart of any app as that's where the engagement happens. We have users who check notifications for more than 1200 times a month. We need to crack that code for better user experience.

6 months, seems like a lot of work has gone into building this. Of a truth, this is important to building a solid project. I like the idea of building everything on leofinance around the Leo token. Let's focus on building the Leo token in general.
