RE: HIVE: No Votes, No Attention - Thinking of Giving up?

I had a similar story with steem. Like you previously said there was no manual, and I really didn’t know what I was doing. My posts were making next to no impact, and then I noticed all of the posts that made the trending lists seemed to be buying votes. I was sure this was the way they kickstarted the upvotes process, so I did the same. This technique seemed to be working. When I was trending I got more exposure, and was getting much more upvotes. Whilst I was watching the rewards increasing on one particular post, I noticed steevc downvoted it and eventually I made it onto one of his naughty lists, which wiped out all of my rewards. After getting over the original annoyance (which included a few sarky reply’s) both Steevc and yourself explained a few things to me, and gave me some very good advice, which I still stick to. Without that exact interaction, both myself and my girlfriend would have left the platform I’m sure. That was a few years ago now, but thank you both for that. 👍

LOL, I remember this.. anything bad and my memory is perfect hehe.., I am glad you stuck around and @bettynoir. You have your own little niches and are quite different. This is why I support the both of you.

I don't want to drive good people away, but sometimes you need to get their attention when they are doing things wrong. I don't even remember what it was in your case, but I hope we can be friends now. I don't seem to have to downvote so much these days, but I am ready to when it is justified. Hive is worth defending from abusers.

Ha. It’s all good Steevc. It was a lesson learned many years ago, and the 2 of you dealt with it well, and have been very approachable, and incredibly helpful ever since.

I've tried to be constructive with people. I would rather they learnt something and changed their ways than have them leave. So glad you stuck around.

From my perspective you’ve also always acted for what’s best for the platform/community, for both steem and hive. Which includes many things, one being the constant support of genuine content. Same for slobberchops.
