I'm going to toast you tonight.

In two glasses of a sad absence
I'm going to toast you tonight,
and I'll start by wishing you happiness
clearing up my serene sight.

I'm going to toast your joy
by the white light of your smile,
and when I'm in the room
I will think your pretty eyes.

I'll toast to the longing to be together,
and in the preamble of the dim light
I'll toast your happy birthday
and for your successes in life.

I will ask God to bless you
and I'll be thoughtful for a while,
and when emptying the first glass,
for sure, without being seen, I will cry.

Then I'll grab the second glass
and I will think of your face and your shine,
and as can you not see my sadness
you will think that I am too fine.

However, so you have a good time
I'll just laugh at my virtual flight,
but I'm going to toast with all my heart
for your happiness tonight.
