Lessons life has taught me that school never teaches

Life is a great teacher that teaches one without speaking, it’s voiceless yet profound,to some it’s a hard teacher while to some it’s a loving teacher

photo is mine, taking with iPhone x.

it’s a sunny day, not a usual day for the month of June, i looked Around me, looked at my mum, my family’ and thought to myself ****this is not the life i had wished for myself and my family” my father died when i was still very little, life was hard.

precisely june 2014 i left home, lagos,Nigeria to ondo state another part of the country, based on a business proposal from a friend.

my whole family was against it they told me the business would not work and everyone i told about my proposed journey to ondo state, opposed and told me the same thing’but i left anyway.

i taught things would get better if I get there’ but the opposite played out, what life taught me then was that there is no greener grass anywhere, success sometimes is not in >where you are but >who you are**
you may say i’m not making progress where i am, maybe it’s because you are still doing the same thing the same way and you are expecting a different result which is impossible.

you may say i gave up easily’ i let my own family win or why would i let everyone who discouraged me win,
yes I called and told them that what i went for didn’t work but i had only lost a battle not the war.

one lesson i have learnt from life is that (it’s when you are hardest hit that you mustn’t quit)
i left ondo for a town called nsukka in enugu state,
it’s an eastern state’ very far to the west, different culture but the same country.

i grew up being without my dad so my other dad called life has taught me how to take risk and never give in or give up whenever i face defeat,
having a resilient attitude.
i left home with nothing but I said to myself I am not going back home with nothing,
though going there was even tougher but i am thankful i did because i had many connections there, i met people who are now a big influence in my career and life generally.

over the years i have travelled to more than 10 states in my country and uncountable villages i have seen people’ who through thier ignorance mistake life lessons for punishment not recognizing that good days gives you joy while bad days gives you experience but both are necessary for a successful life, if you are handed good results easily without exams or tests then where is the thrill of going to school or studying.
there is a process to everything, you can’t get the honey without entering the bee hive, remember >life is a linear equation, you can’t cross multiply.

Education is important, schools can’t teach you everything, you can finish schooling but you can’t finish education.
you can get educated in the streets, at cafeteria’s, in place’s of worships, anywhere, but just like in schools” learning may be free but promotions are not free.

**in school you sit for lessons and are given a test, >but in life you are given a test that will teach you a lesson ####

thanks for reading my post,God bless you.

The grass truly isn't always greener on the other side. It's greener where you nurture it.

It's admirable that you found solace in your failures and bounced back to make something good for yourself. That's he resilience required to grow life.

growth they say’ is gradual and slow but it always feels like yesterday when you realize how much and how fast you have grown
