Star Gloom Handmade Clay Keychain

Star Gloom.gif

Hello, how are you? This clay I am going to make, I accidentally made it, but I have a high doubt I can make it again, but I can try. I like the challenge, and I don't know, I guess he is one of my favorites of all the gloom. The simplicity and cuteness are everything. And I have this idea, why not add a shiny glittery effect on it, and it made it better, it is like shining, but I don't know if you can see it in the photo, but it looks better on the IRL.

So I am going to make Star Gloom today, and I think I will gain a lot of muscle from conditioning the clay because this specific color is so hard, but that is a good thing for me because the harder the clay, the less dirt or dust can stick to it, so yeah. I am going to show how I make my clay charm, just like I did with the other I hope you like it!

Materials I Used:

  • Polymer Clay
  • Weighing Scale
  • Needle Tool
  • White Paper
  • Dotting Tool
  • Clay Hole Cutter
  • X- Acto Knife
  • Metal Ball
  • UV Resin
  • UV Lamp
  • Nail Polish Brush
  • Disposable Gloves
  • Mask
  • Acrylic Stamping Block
  • Soft Pastels
  • Brush
  • Eyepin
  • Oven
  • Pliers
  • Keychain

Craft Time!

I first condition the clay I am going to use. First, I am going to make the Star, which is the body of Glom. After conditioning the clay, I am going to weigh it.

4.JPG

5.JPG

I roll it around my palm until to smoothen the outer part. This should look like this.

6.JPG

7.JPG

I sculpt it into the shape of a star. It takes me a lot of time, but I keep doing it.

9.JPG

And then I place it on an acrylic stamping block, and then using the ball metal, I created a dent or hole in the middle of it. Set it aside for later.

10.JPG

12.JPG

For the head of Gloom, I am going to use a skintone clay just like I did earlier, condition and weigh it.

14.JPG

15.JPG

I roll it around my palm until it smooths and shape it into a bean-like shape.

16.JPG

17.JPG

And then I added those onto the dent I made on the Star. And then I added a map of where the eyes will be using my dotting tool.

19.JPG

20.JPG

For the eye, I flatten some clay and then, using this clay hole cutter, I cut out the eyes, eyebrows, and lips. And then I rolled it into a small ball and added those into the map I made earlier.

21.JPG

22.JPG

And then I added the eyebrows.

23.JPG

24.JPG

For the nose, I use a pinkish pastel color and then shape it into a triangle, and then I add those onto the head.

25.JPG

26.JPG

Then I cut the bottom part to make it look like a heart using an X-Acto knife.

27.JPG

28.JPG

For the lips, I rolled a thin line and cut two small pieces of it, and I added it carefully onto the head.

29.JPG

30.JPG

For the blush, I use soft pastels and a brush to add it to use it on both cheeks and the nose.

31.JPG

32.JPG

Then I added the eyepin.

33.JPG

34.JPG

And then bake it according to the instructions on the packaging of the clay instructed and then after baking, let the clay cool down.

35.JPG

36.JPG

I forgot to film the time when I added the glitter around Star Gloom, but yeah, LOL. To add a protective glaze to it, I use UV Resin on it.

38.JPG

37.JPG

Then I use a brush to apply the UV Resin equally and then cure it under the UV Lamp for a few minutes or until there is no sticky feel on it.

39.JPG

41.JPG

This is what it looks like when Star Gloom has fully cured UV Resin glazing.

42.JPG

43.JPG

To add the keychain, I put the jump ring along with the keychain and then locked it using pliers.

44.JPG

I am trying to take a photo of the glitter effect on it. I hope you see it.

The little details in your Star Gloom keychain makes it very unique. Nicely.

The final result looks amazing! The details and sparkle give it so much personality. I'd be eager to have one of these as a keychain. 🤗
