Persimmons In Oil Pastels, Start The First Day Of May With Art!

$1

The story behind this drawing is that when I was still on my highschool or college era, I used to watch kdrama, the influence in food is number one for me, I remembered I used to be curious about “Kimchi” and I love to taste it because on how delicious they ate it so I decided to make one and at first I was hesitate but when I know what to do with it, I can’t stop making it. When sangyupsal was still starting here in the Philippines, I always asked my family to eat one for experience, and I am telling you right now, sangyupsal is better before than now.

And back to the topic the one k drama I used to watch ate persimmons it look good so me and my cousin try to find one on the market and we saw one and I didn’t like it at all it taste like chico like we have here and lately my mom bought some and I tasted it, it taste different from what we bought on the market, the reason is that the persimmon is overripe so that is why LOL.

So yeah, I decided to draw a persimmon in oil pastel today, and to start the first day of the month of May! Oh, by the way, it is Labor Day today.

Materials I Used:

  • Paper
  • Oil Pastel
  • Tissue
  • Scratching Tool

Time To Draw!

I promise myself to be productive starting today. To draw the line art, I use pretty much any color my hand touches. It is fine.

3.JPG

4.JPG

Start by layering the base color on each part of the persimmon. I do it lightly in the moment.

6.JPG

Then I layer it with more of its base color I start to add the shadows to the part that is darker.

7.JPG

8.JPG

Sometimes when I am so focused on one part, I always forget the other part, so that is my focus on this part.

I was doubting whether I would use green as a background color, but I still did.

11.JPG

12.JPG

I like the blend, some of it with white.

Then this one too.

15.JPG

16.JPG

I never forget the accent colors. I finally decided green is the background color, so commit to it.

19.JPG

This one is my favorite part of the process, adding texture using a scratching tool.

Here is the close-up look. I love the texture that oil pastel makes.

I hope you like it :D
