Last Orange Reference Using Oil Pastels

Hello, how are you? It is so sad that this is my final oil pastel drawing at the moment. I don't have a reference left at the moment LOL. I am so tempted to buy the oil pastel that I've been eyeing for a long time. I always say this, but I never did it, and of course, it is very soon I am telling you that I've been manifesting it so bad when the right time comes, I will seriously, haha. But there are a lot of things to prioritize first.
So yeah, sometimes finding a budget-friendly and good at the same time oil pastel is a catch. Imagine you can make a texture art by just using an oil pastel below $10, as I try all of this brand, I realize they're just better than the professional ones, but the reason artists buy professional oil pastel is when they sell the original artwork, due to the fastlightness of the oil pastel, so yeah.
Materials I Used:
- Paper
- Oil Pastels
- Scratching Tool
- Tissue
Drawing Time!
First is to draw the line art of the reference. I use dark brown for the line art.
And then I add the base color, just with light pressure to make it easier to blend the oranges.
I sometimes do the first orange, then move on to the others, so I can focus on that one first. I first layer it from darker shades to lighter ones. I decided to use a pink background.
To darken the shadow from oranges, I first use blue, and then I layer it with the pink oil pastel, and it worked!
Blend everything with a lighter color.
And then I added the accent color, like shades of blue light, to the middle.
Here is what it looks like close up, and I think it looks dimensional enough.
I use this clay to add texture to the drawing.
This is what it looks like close up.
Here's another.
I hope you like it. :D
