I Am So Satisfied With The Oranges I Ate So I Drew It Using Oil Pastels

Hello, how are you? It is a good day today. It is raining this afternoon, and it eases the hot weather, and it is raining again tonight, so no more sleeping in a hot room.

My mom bought an orange today, and it did not disappoint. This time it is sweet and juicy, which inspired me to draw again. To be honest, I really love drawing oranges in any kind. I just love how simple and eye-catching it is to draw.

I am very soon going to upgrade my oil pastels, I really, really love to own a professional brand that I've been eyeing for years, and I am confident to say that I am going to buy it as my birthday present LOL.

Crayola and Pentel don't blend well together when mixing is kind of disappointing, and I'm really loving the crayola texture when layering. I just love it so much. I hope they have more colors to sell.

Materials I Used:

  • Paper
  • Oil Pastels
  • Tissue
  • Scratching Tool

Drawing Time!

I am going to start by placing all the material I am going to need in an easy-to-access place.

Sketch the reference using the darkest shades of orange. And I started layering each of their respective color in a light drawing so that I can control what color I am going to layer later in the future process.

Then I layer it with more force this time, just layer above the base color I did earlier. Blue is the best background for orange, so I chose it again.

Then I added shadows on the oranges just to make them more dimensional.

Then I added darker shades to the place where the shadows are to make the drawing look more realistic, and the accent color will always be on my oil pastel drawings, LOL.

Then the shadow from the previous drawing is not that noticeable, so I added more.

Time to add texture, to do that, I am going to use this clay tool as my scratching tool.

This is what it looks like after.

This one too.

I am satisfied with the oranges I ate earlier! I hope you like my drawing.

Thank you for visiting, see you on my next blog. :D
Please take care of your mental health as well.
I hope you are okay today :))
