Handmade Lanyard Strip Cute Muscle Bear Bread Polymer Clay

Hello, how are you? Still reheating some of the food from the New Year?! Same… LOL. A lot of desserts are still left, and just a little savory food is left. The weather is ten out of ten. It is so cold here that you don’t need to go to a cold place. I enjoy it to the fullest because summer is not my thing now, it's hot as hell
So, back to the main topic, I’ve seen a really cute plushie that is a bear with a muscular body, but it is made out of bread, which is so cute, and it reminds me of someone's buff body with a cute face, LOL.
So I decided to make a lanyard strap for my phone made out of polymer clay. I was planning to make one last year, but I am kind of busy, and now I have my free time again, so this is my sign to make it.
Materials I Used:
- Polymer Clay
- Glass Sheet
- Portable Weighing Scale
- Gum Container
- Alcohol
- Q tip
- Soft Pastel
- Make up brush
- Needle Tools
- Silicone Mat
- Oven
- UV Resin
- Eyepin
- UV Lamp
- Lanyard Strap
Craft Time!
Do not skip conditioning the clay because it is what will cause cracking and bubbling when baking.
To make the proportion right when I sculpt the clay, I make sure to weigh them first equally so that it's not a hassle to figure it out if the clay is equally in size. I like to portion it into parts so that it is easier for me to figure out what is what later.
I first sculpt the foundation parts, which are the head and the body. What I do is I shape them and then combine them.
Next are the ears, I place them where I like them to be.
I was so into sculpting it that I forgot to document it, but what I did was I added the muscles around the body and the feet, too.
After that, I assembled the muscles in the arms. I made sure to order it from thick to thin so it would look like a muscle.
Now that all of it is assembled, I am going to clean any dust or dirt from the clay using alcohol and Qtip.
Now that the clay is nice and clean, I am going to add a shade of color to it by using soft pastels and a makeup brush, which will make it look realistic. I start with a light color first.
And then I build the layers until I am satisfied with them.
Now the shades of the clay are good. I am going to add the eyes, which I rolled a tinnie tiny brown clay, and add it to the face.
After the I added the nose and the lips.
For the eye pin, I put it at the top of the head of the clay and done.
Now it is ready to be baked. What I do is place it onto the silicone mat, and then I preheat the oven, and then bake it at the time and temperature as the packaging instructions say. Wait for the clay to be completely cool before proceeding to the next step.
To add the glazing, I pour UV Resin enough to cover the clay, and then I use a brush to apply it evenly.
I like to start with a little UV Resin so that it will be cured under the UV Lamp easily.
After that, I cure it under a UV Lamp until it doesn’t have a sticky texture anymore.
Now everything is done, I am going to put the lanyard strip on the eye pin of the clay, and it's done!
I did not expect to look so cute. The patience and dedication are worth it!
Thank you for visiting, see you on my next blog. :D
