Handmade Clay Keychain Choco Butternut Donut

chocobutternut.gif

Hello, how are you? This donut made me disappointed when my brother gave me one, I think last year? I was thrilled to finally taste it, as it had been years since I last had one.

And then I was browsing on the internet, and I saw they upgraded it with chocolate filling inside, like what!? Give me one! LOL.

The donut I am talking about is the chocolate butter one, but the one I've been craving is the orange and black one. I’ve been craving it this week, haha.

So yeah, to ease those cravings again, I am going to make one for myself, but in a clay keychain form, just to remind myself that I need to go out more and buy everything I am craving.

Materials I Used:

1.JPG

  • Polymer Clay
  • Glass Sheet
  • Portable Weighing Scale
  • Paint Brush
  • Gum Container
  • Tree Brush Tool
  • Needle Tool
  • Clear Glue
  • Colored Sand
  • Eyepin
  • Silicone Mat
  • Oven
  • Pliers
  • Keychain

Craft Time!

Conditioning the clay until the texture of it is soft enough to work with, do not skip this process, because it will ruin the clay after baking. And then I like to weigh the clay I am going to use by using the portable one.

And then I shape the clay into a ball make sure to make it round enough.

Using the back tip of the paintbrush. I poke a hole in the middle of it and twist the brush to the other side to create a clean hole shape just like that.

To add the texture of the real donut, I use this tree brush tool and put some texture on the clay.

To add the colored powdered sugar texture to it, what I do first is to add a clear glue on the top and apply it evenly using the needle tool.

And I dip it into the colored sand I made by crushing the sand I bought. The white one, so I need to color it by adding soft pastel in and spray some water in it, and just let it dry completely, and that’s it. I did the same thing on the other side.

Then I added the eyepin.

Place the clay onto the silicone mat and bake it at the temperature and time on the instructions of the packaging. After that, let the clay cool down first before proceeding to the next step.

27.JPG

28.JPG

To add the keychain, I will need two pliers. What I do first is I put the jump ring along with the keychain.

And then lock the jumpring using two pliers and done!
