Handmade Air-Dry Clay S'mores Tictactoe

Hello, how are you? Before the new year, my whole family, I mean five of us LOL, we go grocery shopping for the food we needed, we go as a whole because it is easier to grocery shop when five people are involved LOL.
Then I saw this brand of marshmallow I always buy before and I got one ofcourse and we are supposed to use it for smorse but we forgot, so when I remembered, I bought one, I made smores for us using kisses chocolate and our leftover graham cracker and baked it on oven. I feel inlove the taste of it so I can't stop eating it.
So I've been planning on making a tictactoe made in air dry clay, but I dont know what design I am going to use, so I decided what if I made smores out of it, so I did :D
Materials I Used:
- Air Dry Clay
- Cutting Mat
- Acrylic Rolling Pin
- Popsicles Sticks
- Lid
- X acto Knife
- Cutter Blade
- Spray Water Bottle
- Sponge
- Silicone Mat
- Tree Brush Tool
- Air Dry Clay Paste
- Brush
- Metal Ruler
- Weighing Scale Portable
- Needle Tool
- Acrylic Paint
- Paint Brush
- Bottle With Water
Craft Time!
First is to condition the air-dry clay by kneading it with a wet hand.
Then I place two popsicle sticks as my reference for how thick the clay I am going to make. Using an acrylic rolling pin, I knead the air-dry clay to achieve the thickness I wanted.
After that, I am going to use this acrylic storage lid that is perfect for this size of tic-tac-toe I am going to make. I place the clay and press it down to make a mark of its size.
This is how it looks.
And using this long cutter blade, I cut each side of it.
This is how it looks.
I use this spray bottle and sponge to smooth out any imperfections when I cut the clay.
Now it is smooth! And then I place that air-dry clay into a silicone mat, and I set it aside for a while.
I grab another clay.
And then shape it again using the method I did earlier, but this time it is longer.
I also use the thickness of the border on the lid as my reference, so I cut to that size using a cutter blade.
Then I grab the clay I made earlier and, using this tree brush tool, scrape the side of it. This technique is used to make the other clay I am going to add connect more easily.
And then I use a clay paste which I made using mixing more water and air-dry clay. Adding it to the part that I scraped earlier.
Then, one by one, I added the long strip of clay I cut earlier.
And then I smooth it out with a wet sponge.
Using the paste I made earlier, I fill in the gap from the side of the clay. And then I smooth it out using a brush.
Now the body is smooth.
Then, after that, for the borders in the middle, I cut a long strip of clay again, but this time I made it thinner.
Using the metal ruler as my reference, how thick is the space are.
I added paste and scraped it for a better grip, and then I added it one by one.
I first add the middle part. And then the top, middle, and bottom parts.
And then using the paste and brush, I fill and smooth out any gaps. And then I set it aside for later.
Kisses Chocolate and Marshmallow:
Now I am going to make the kisses, chocolate, and marshmallows. What I do is I grab another air-dry clay and then weigh them equally for a better size.
Shape them into balls, and after that, I sculpt them into kisses, chocolate, and marshmallows.
I almost forgot to add the texture to the clay, so I am going to use this needle tool to add those. And then let the clay dry for about 1 to 2 days.
Adding Color:
Now that the air-dry clay is completely dry. I am going to paint it using acrylic paint. I first layer the body with light acrylic paint and let it dry before adding another layer.
And when the first layer is completely dry, I added another layer of paint on it.
While the body is still drying, I am going to paint the chocolate first, just like the first one, I layer it thin at the first layer. And then layer it again, and this is what it looks like.
Next is the marshmallow. I painted it with white first, and I forgot to document the process of adding the burnt part of the marshmallow, sorry, hehehe.
Let them dry before trying.
Now I have a tictactoe smores.
Happy Playing!
