Ginisang Munggo Bean on Rainy Day
Hello, how are you? It has been days since it last rained here, and sometimes it is both a good and a bad thing. The good thing is that it is not hot, and the bad thing is that you can't go out because it is raining and everything is wet, and laundry is really slow to dry.
When it's raining, we tend to eat food that pairs well with the weather, and one of them is ginisang munggo. It is perfect to eat while looking outside when it is raining. This is our go-to food when rainy days are coming.
Ingredients I Used:
Ingredients I Used:
- 1 tbsp. Cooking Oil
- Meat
- Garlic
- Ginger
- Munggo Beans
- 1.2l Water
- Red Onion
- 2 tbsp. Fish Sauce
- 4 Tomatoes
- Chili Leaves
- Green Chilis
- Chicken Broth Cube
Let's Cook!
Let's Cook!
In a pot, I added the munggo beans and boil it until most of the skin came off, and then I rinsed off the skin. After that, I return in on the stove a pour about 1.2 litres of hot water. Let it boil on low heat.
In a hot pan, I added one tablespoon of cooking oil, and then I added the meat I am going to use.
Fry it until golden brown to crispy. The crispier, the better when it comes to pork, and that is my mother's request LOL.
After that, I added the garlic, red onion, and ginger, and I sautéed them until the aroma came out.
And then I added the tomatoes, and I cook it until the texture turned into mush.
And then I added two tablespoons of fish sauce.
Let the fish sauce seep into the tomatoes and meat.
And then I transfer it to the pot with the munggo beans.
When it starts boiling, I am going to add the chicken broth cube.
Then I added the green chilis. You can add it when the munggo beans are already cooked, but I like to cook it along with it because it gives flavor to it, so I added it earlier. Cook it for about 15 minutes on medium to high heat.
After that, I am going to add the chili leaves.
Let it cook for just a minute.
This is better to eat while it is hot.
Time to eat! Happy eating! :D
Thank you for visiting, see you on my next blog. :D
