Cooking Blog: Ginataang Yellowfin Fish For Our Lunch

Hello, how are you? I got up early today because we went somewhere again to accompany my mom, and after that, we are going to look for a couch again. Still, she already chose one yesterday, and we measured it yesterday in our living room, and it fits perfectly hehe.

So today I am going to cook fish because people here are so sick of eating meat, so they wanted a change, and lately we've been eating a lot of vegetables and meat.

It has been a while since we ate fish, and the last time was a month ago, I guess, so I am cooking ginataang yellowfin today, and after tasting it, oh, I really do miss eating it.

Ingredients I Used:

  • 1/4 Cup Cooking Oil
  • Yellow Fin Fish
  • Garlic
  • Red Onion
  • Ginger
  • Fish Sauce
  • Coconut Milk
  • Water
  • Green Chilis
  • Black Pepper
  • All-in-one Seasoning
  • Turmeric
  • Malunggay Leaves

Let's Cook!

In a hot pan, I pour about 1/4 cup of cooking oil, and then I added the fix fry it a little bit just to remove the fishiness of it.

Fry both sides and then set aside for later.

In the same pan, I reduce the oil and then sauté the aromatics like garlic, red onion, and ginger.

Then I added a teaspoon of fish sauce and let that seep into the aromatics.

Then I added 250ml of coconut milk.

Then I use the same pack to measure the water.

Then I added green chilis.

Then add Black Pepper.

And add it all in one seasoning.

Mix everything until well combined.

Add just a dash of turmeric for the color and taste too. And cook the fish over medium-low heat for 15 minutes.

This is what it looks like when it thickens.

Then I am going to add malunggay leaves for extra greens.

Then plate it.

Perfect to eat while it is still hot.

Happy eating! :D

Thank you for visiting, see you on my next blog. :D
Please take care of your mental health as well.
I hope you are okay today :))

Oh, that looks delicious! Ginataang yellowfin is especially good when it’s spicy. I’m sure you ended up eating a lot of rice with this!
