My husband’s graduation from the Diploma in Theology course (Eng/Esp)

Hello, dear friends of Hive. I send you my warmest greetings and hope you have a wonderful day; may God always bless you. Various events take place in our lives every day, but I hope you’ll agree with me that some of them leave a deeper mark on us than others, or move us more deeply. That’s just how moving it was to accompany my husband to his graduation from the Diploma in Theology.
Above all, I felt very proud of my husband. I also felt very happy and grateful to God to see him so joyful and enthusiastic about having reached a new milestone. The sense of satisfaction after achieving something that took a great deal of effort is immense. That moment of victory alone makes all the sacrifice worthwhile.

Hola queridos amigos y amigas de Hive. Les mando un gran saludo y deseo que tengan un día hermoso y que Dios los bendiga siempre. En nuestra vida ocurren diferentes eventos a diario, pero espero que concuerden conmigo en que hay algunos de ellos que nos marcan más que otros, o que nos emocionan más. Así de emocionante fue acompañar a mi esposo a su graduación del Diploma en Teología.
Me sentí sobre todo muy orgullosa de mi esposo. También me sentí muy feliz y agradecida con Dios de verlo a él tan alegre y entusiasmado por haber alcanzado una nueva meta. El grado de satisfacción luego de conseguir algo que nos costó mucho esfuerzo es muy grande. Sólo ese momento de victoria hace que todo el sacrificio haya valido la pena.

On this very important day, my husband’s father was present; he also looked very cheerful and proud of his son. He seemed very happy and moved to see him taking firm steps in life and to see that he has become a good man who remains true to his principles and values.
During this course, my husband learnt a great deal about the Bible and ministry. He was able to share with several brothers in the faith who, like him, are motivated to continue preparing themselves to serve God and others with greater excellence.

En este día tan importante estuvo presente el papá de mi esposo, se veía también muy alegre y orgulloso de su hijo. Se veía muy feliz y emocionado de verlo dando pasos firmes en la vida y de que se ha convertido en un buen hombre que es coherente con sus principios y valores.
En este curso mi esposo pudo aprender muchísimas cosas sobre la Biblia y sobre el ministerio. Pudo compartir con varios hermanos en la fé, que al igual que él están motivados por seguir preparándose para poder servir a Dios y a los demás con mayor excelencia.

That day, all the graduates were wearing gowns and graduation caps. They looked very smart. I couldn’t pass up the chance to try on my husband’s cap; it was quite big on me but it was great fun, and my husband even took a photo of me pulling that prank.
My husband introduced me to his classmates and many of his friends who were there that day. They were all very friendly. There was a wonderful atmosphere of celebration and joy in the air.

Ese día todos los graduados usaban toga y sombreros de graduación. Se veían muy elegantes. No pude perder la oportunidad de intentar probarme el sombrero de mi esposo, me quedaba bastante grande pero fue muy divertido, incluso mi esposo me tiró una foto de esa travesura.
Mi esposo me presentó a sus compañeros de curso y a muchos amigos suyos que asistieron ese día. Todos fueron muy agradables. Se respiraba en el ambiente un gran aire festivo y de regocijo.

The graduation ceremony was lovely; there was a guest preacher who delivered a very insightful message, we sang many hymns, and they called up one by one all those who had reached the finish line and successfully graduated. The graduation took place at the Theological Seminary in Punta Brava. That’s quite a long way from our home, but thank God the church organised transport to take us all there; otherwise, it would have been very difficult to get there, and above all to arrive on time.
To celebrate this special occasion, my husband and I went for pizza in Vedado later on. They were delicious, with plenty of cheese just as I like them; we had some fizzy drinks with them and then stayed to watch the sunset in a park. That sunset was one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen.

La ceremonia de graduación fue hermosa, hubo un predicador invitado que dió un mensaje muy certero, cantamos muchas alabanzas y fueron llamando uno a uno a todos los que vencieron la meta y lograron graduarse. La graduación fue en el Seminario Teológico que se ubica en Punta Brava. Eso está muy distante de nuestra casa, pero gracias a Dios la iglesia gestionó un transporte para llevarnos a todos, de lo contrario hubiese sido muy engorroso llegar y sobre todo llegar puntuales.
Para celebrar este evento tan señalado, mi esposo y yo fuimos a comer pizzas en el Vedado más tarde. Estaban deliciosas, con bastante queso como me gustan, las acompañamos con unos refrescos gaseados y luego nos quedamos viendo el atardecer en un parque. Ese atardecer es de los más lindos que he visto.

We would have liked to see a film at the cinema, but it was getting quite late and we had to head home. The journey is quite long, and the later it gets, the harder it is to find transport.
We had a peaceful journey and, along the way, we laughed and reminisced about the truly memorable moments we’d experienced that day. I hope you enjoyed the post. Best wishes, see you next time.

Hubiésemos querido ver una película en el cine pero ya se nos estaba haciendo muy tarde y teníamos que regresar a casa. El viaje es bastante largo y mientras más tarde se hace más se dificulta conseguir transporte.
