Hello, dear Hive and Daily Blog family. A big hello to each and every one of you. I hope you’re having a brilliant day full of lovely moments, and may God always bless you. In this post, I’d like to tell you about my day and, above all, about the Bible study we had as part of Youth Week. I’ll give you a sneak peek: we had a fantastic time – there was no shortage of laughter, games and moments to connect with God and learn more from His Word.
Hola familia querida de Hive y de Daily Blog. Un gran saludo para casa uno. Deseo que tengan un día espectacular lleno de momentos agradables y que Dios los bendiga siempre. En este post quiero comentarles de mi día y sobre todo del estudio bíblico que tuvimos como parte de la Semana de los Jóvenes. Les voy adelantando que la pasamos fenomenal, no faltaron las risas, los juegos y los momentos para conectarnos con Dios y aprender más de su palabra.
The day got off to a hectic start, because they turned the electricity back on at 3 o’clock in the morning, no less. I had to get up at that hour to cook and get everything ready for the day. Breakfast was a real treat as we had jelly on the menu. It was delicious! I loved it—it tasted great, and I know it’s very good for your health too.
El día inició intenso, porque pusieron la electricidad a las 3 de la mañana, nada más y nada menos. A esa hora tuve que levantarme para cocinar y dejar todo listo para el día. La hora de desayunar fue un momento muy placentero pues tuvimos en el menú gelatina. ¡Qué rica! Me encantó, estaba muy buena, además sé que es muy buena para la salud.
My husband went out to sort out some work matters and I stayed at home sleeping in; I think I deserved it after the late night I’d had. When I opened my eyes, there was my husband—he’d already come back. He’d been trying to make as little noise as possible so as not to wake me, because he knew I was tired. Later, I served lunch, which was absolutely delicious—modesty aside, ha ha ha.
Mi esposo se fue a hacer unas gestiones de trabajo y yo me quedé en casa durmiendo la mañana, creo que me lo merecía luego de la madrugada que tuve. Cuando abrí los ojos ahí estaba mi esposo, ya había regresado, intentaba hacer el menor ruido posible para no despertarme porque sabía que estaba cansada. Más tarde serví el almuerzo que estaba muy rico modestia aparte jajaja.
In the afternoon, we went to visit my mother-in-law for a while. We chatted quite a bit, catching up on national and international events via the internet; we watched the news and discussed the topics amongst ourselves. It just so happened that the National Power Grid was experiencing some problems during the day – something that, sadly, has become all too common.

Estuvimos conversando bastante, actualizándonos del acontecer nacional e internacional a través de internet, ahí miramos las noticias y comentábamos sobre el tema entre nosotros. As the afternoon wore on, we sat enjoying a lovely cup of coffee that my mother-in-law had made and carried on chatting for a while. I was telling my mother-in-law that I’d like us to make better use of the land to grow herbs and vegetables. Because my mother-in-law has a plot of land that’s big enough; she even has fruit trees—mangoes, guavas, avocados and much more. So we were discussing the matter.
Cuando avanzó un poco la tarde nos estuvimos tomando un rico cafecito que hizo mi suegra y seguimos conversando un poco. Le decía a mi suegra que me gustaría que aprovecháramos más la tierra para sembrar condimentos, hortalizas. Before it got too late, my husband and I went home to have a shower and get ready to go to church for our Bible study. Thank God we managed to catch a bus that hadn’t been running for a while, and it dropped us off very close to where we were heading. When we arrived, we greeted everyone. There was a lovely atmosphere of joy and excitement among all the young people, which was very infectious. We started with the competitions, and each team had to come up with a name relating to the week’s theme: ‘Remnant’. My team’s lack of creativity was quite funny, as our name was simply ‘Remnant’. The other team was called ‘Influencers’. I really liked that name.
Antes de que se nos hiciera tarde, mi esoso y yo fuimos a la casa a bañarnos y prepararnos para ir a la iglesia donde sería nuestro estudio bíblico. Gracias a Dios pudimos coger un bus que hace tiempo no pasaba y nos dejó muy cerca del lugar al que nos dirigíamos. Cuando llegamos saludamos a todos. Había un lindo ambiente de alegría y emoción muy contagioso entre todos los jóvenes. Comenzamos con las competencias y casa equipo debía haber pensado en un nombre alusivo al lema de la semana: "Remanente". Fue muy graciosa la falta de creatividad de mi equipo, ya que nuestro nombre fue ese mismo: "Remanente". El otro equipo se llama: "Influyentes". Ese nombre me gustó mucho.
We started by singing hymns and learnt the week’s verse by heart using mime; it was great fun, and we found it much easier to remember that way. The verse is:

Romans 11:4–5
4. And what did the divine voice reply? ‘I have reserved for myself seven thousand men, all of whom have not bowed the knee to Baal.’
5. So too, at the present time, there is a remnant chosen by grace.
This passage is a call to remain steadfast in our faith despite our circumstances, our difficulties and even when no one else around us shares our faith.
Tuvimos un tiempo inicial de cantar alabanzas y estuvimos memorizado el texto lema de la semana usando mímica, fue súper divertido, y se nos pegó mucho más fácil de esa manera. El texto lema es:

Afterwards, each team put on a short sketch based on the Book of Ezra, which we’ve been studying this week. We had a right laugh during that part – it was great fun. Then Moisés shared a brief message from the Word with us, and after that it was time for ‘Biblical Baseball’. We chose nine players from each team, and each one picked a slip of paper with a question about the book we’re studying. These questions could have up to four levels of difficulty. If we answered correctly, we’d advance around the bases until we scored a run worth 100 points; if we got it wrong, it was an out. This part was also great fun. We finished by praying and said goodbye until the next event. Greetings to everyone – have a lovely day.
Después cada equipo hizo un pequeño sketch sobre el libro de Esdras que estamos estudiando durante la semana. Nos reímos muchísimo en esa parte, fue bastante divertido. Luego Moisés compartió un breve mensaje de la palabra con nosotros y entonces vino el baseball bíblico. Escogimos 9 jugadores de cada equipo y cada uno tomó un papelito que indicaba una pregunta sobre el libro que estamos estudiando. Estás preguntas podían tener hasta 4 niveles de dificultad. Si respondíamos correctamente íbamos avanzando por las bases hasta hacer una carrera que acumulaba 100 puntos y si fallamos era un out. Esta parte también fue muy divertida.
