IT: Capítulo I (Con Spoilers) [ESP/ENG]
Holii, quería hacer esta reseña desde hace un tiempo porque, como persona con fobia a los payasos, estás películas fueron un relativo fracaso a la hora de dar miedo; como es tanto contenido por mencionar, preferí dividir los post en dos y así poder centrarme en cada capítulo específicamente.
Solo hablaré de los remake de 2017 y 2019 debido a que, por motivos de mi fobia, me es imposible ver la miniserie de 1990; empezaré acá hablando primero del capítulo uno que fue la que más me impacto en referencia a mi fobia.

Hii, I wanted to do this review for a while because, as a person with clown phobia, these movies were a relative failure when it comes to being scary; as there is so much content to mention, I preferred to divide the posts in two so I can focus on each chapter specifically.
I will only talk about the 2017 and 2019 remakes because, due to my phobia, it's impossible for me to watch the 1990 miniseries; I will start here talking first about chapter one which was the one that impacted me the most in reference to my phobia.

Esta es una película basada en la novela homónima de Stephen King, como mencioné, anteriormente se había realizado un proyecto audiovisual en formato de miniserie la cuál tuvo muy buena recepción; en el año 2017 lanzaron una versión en formato de largometraje, con una mejor realización gracias a los avances en los efectos especiales.
La historia cuenta la vida de siete niños, los cuales se hacen llaman "El Club de los Perdedores" gracias a que son víctima de los abusadores o bullys de su escuela; estos niños habitan en el pueblo de Derry, ubicado en Maine, donde han estado ocurriendo diversas desapariciones, mayormente de niños.
Estos descubren que dichas desapariciones vienen de la mano de un ente maligno, el cuál acecha cada 27 años, que tiene apariencia de payaso pero que, también, puede cambiar su apariencia para atormentar a los habitantes de Derry; estos siete chicos unen fuerzas para combatir a Pennywise pero solo logran debilitarlo en esta etapa de su ciclo, así que juran volver cuando se cumplan los 27 años en caso de que Pennywise vuelva a atacar.
This is a film based on the novel of the same name by Stephen King, as I mentioned, an audiovisual project had previously been made in miniseries format which was very well received; in 2017 they released a feature film version, with a better realization thanks to advances in special effects.
The story tells the life of seven children, who are called "The Losers' Club" because they are victims of bullies in their school; these children live in the town of Derry, located in Maine, where several disappearances have been occurring, mostly of children.
They discover that these disappearances come from the hand of an evil entity, which stalks every 27 years, which has the appearance of a clown but can also change its appearance to torment the inhabitants of Derry; these seven boys join forces to fight Pennywise but only manage to weaken it at this stage of its cycle, so they vow to return when the 27 years are completed in case Pennywise attacks again.
Gracias a la miniserie, más específicamente la escena donde Pennywise sale de la alcantarilla de un baño, fue que nació mi trauma y fobia a los payasos, debido a que, dicha escena, la vi muy pequeña y se quedó grabada permanentemente en mi memoria. Debido a esto, me negué rotundamente a ir a ver el remake pero, mi grupo de amigos confabularon contra mí y me engañaron; ya habían pasado las 4 semanas que dura, normalmente, una película en cartelera, así que pensé que ya no corría peligro alguno; mis amigos compraron las entradas antes de yo llegar y así pasamos a la sala directamente.
Como estaba entre amigos, yo realmente estaba hablando y divirtiéndonos, así que no presté atención a la sala que entramos. Al comenzar la película, mi ansiedad explotó, mis amigos no me dejaban salir de la sala y yo solo podía temblar de miedo, no me dejaban cerrar los ojos o apartar la vista porque me amenazaban con volverla a ver; la verdad que al principio fue una experiencia traumática pero, a medida que la película avanzaba, me empezó a dar risa lo ridículo que era Pennywise y la cantidad excesiva de CGI que tenía encima.
Thanks to the miniseries, more specifically the scene where Pennywise comes out of the sewer of a bathroom, was born my trauma and phobia to clowns, because, that scene, I saw it very young and it was permanently engraved in my memory. Because of this, I flatly refused to go to see the remake but my group of friends conspired against me and tricked me; the 4 weeks that a movie normally lasts had already passed, so I thought I was no longer in any danger; my friends bought the tickets before I arrived and so we went directly to the theater.
Since I was among friends, I was actually talking and having fun, so I didn't pay attention to the room we entered. When the movie started, my anxiety exploded, my friends wouldn't let me leave the room and I could only tremble with fear, they wouldn't let me close my eyes or look away because they threatened me to watch it again; the truth is that at first it was a traumatic experience but, as the movie progressed, I started to laugh at how ridiculous Pennywise was and the excessive amount of CGI on top of it.
No me malinterpreten, la película es buena y entretenida, aunque es un poco plana debido a que desde el primer momento ya te dan susto tras susto haciendo la película un tanto predecible o aburrida; de todas las escenas de miedo, la que realmente me activo mi pavor por los payasos fue en la escena del proyector, donde sale Pennywise gigante de la pantalla y empieza a ir tras Beverly.
Debo admitir que tiene buenas escenas de susto, aunque sobresaturan mucho el uso del Jump Scream, volviéndose predecible; creo que la escena más desesperante de todas y la que más disfrute de ver, fue cuando Beverly está en su baño y del lavabo sale un chorro de sangre que llena todo el baño; creo que nunca había visto tanto sangre en la pantalla grande desde "El Resplandor".
Don't get me wrong, the movie is good and entertaining, although it's a little flat because from the first moment you get scare after scare making the movie a little predictable or boring; of all the scary scenes, the one that really activated my dread for the clowns was in the projector scene, where Pennywise comes out of the screen and starts to go after Beverly.
I must admit that it has good scare scenes, although they oversaturate a lot the use of Jump Scream, becoming predictable; I think the most desperate scene of all and the one I enjoyed watching the most, was when Beverly is in her bathroom and from the sink comes out a stream of blood that fills the whole bathroom; I don't think I had ever seen so much blood on the big screen since "The Shining".
No puedo hacer la comparativa de cuál está mejor realizada o lograda, porque no he visto la miniserie; pero he visto y leído muchas reseñas comparativas y la de 2017 le gana por mucho a la miniserie. También debemos tener en cuenta que ni se puede compara una miniserie con un largometraje como tampoco comparar los efectos especiales de 1990 a los de 2017.
Aunque, eso es algo a mencionar, la adaptación de 2017 utiliza tanto el CGI que, por ejemplo, la actuación de Bill Skarsgård, como Pennywise, prácticamente no se puede apreciar debido a que los efectos por computadora opacan todo su talento o desempeño.
I can't make the comparison of which one is better made or achieved, because I haven't seen the miniseries; but I have seen and read many comparative reviews and the 2017 one beats the miniseries by far. We should also keep in mind that you can't compare a miniseries to a feature film any more than you can compare the special effects of 1990 to those of 2017.
Although, that is something to mention, the 2017 adaptation uses so much CGI that, for example, Bill Skarsgård's performance, as Pennywise, can practically not be appreciated because the computer effects overshadow all his talent or performance.
Entiendo perfectamente que, hoy en día, el CGI es parte fundamental de cualquier película, de hecho, considero que el cine del futuro, prácticamente, no utilizará recurso humanos salvo para utilizar sus movimientos como guía para los personajes generados por computadora; algo así como hacen los videojuegos.
Los humanos tenemos limitaciones tanto biológicas como por leyes de la física, así que para poder lograr plasmar las fantasías que los escritores como guionistas imaginan, se necesitan de estos recursos; pero, repito, en Pennywise exageraron mucho y Skarsgård pasó horas en el departamento de arte, maquillándose, prácticamente para nada.
I fully understand that, today, CGI is a fundamental part of any film, in fact, I believe that the cinema of the future, practically, won't use human resources except to use their movements as a guide for the computer-generated characters; something like video games do.
Humans are limited both biologically and by the laws of physics, so in order to achieve the fantasies that writers and screenwriters imagine, these resources are needed; but, I repeat, in Pennywise they exaggerated a lot and Skarsgård spent hours in the art department, putting on makeup, practically for nothing.
La forma como vencen a Pennywise en este capítulo es en extremo predecible, es el mismo concepto de casi todos los demonios, fantasmas o seres malignos; si dejas de tenerles miedo, ellos perderán su poder y se volverán débiles. Es un poco "magia del cine" o "deus ex machina" el hecho de que siete niños, de no más de 13 años, puedan vencer a un ser maligno de otro mundo solo golpeándolo e hiriéndolo con vigas de metal, siento que le quita todo poder sobrenatural que puede llegar a tener Pennywise en la historia.
La verdad que ese final me decepcionó un tanto pero me gusta que hayan dejado la puerta abierta para que quede más que claro que la historia no acaba ahí, sin necesidad de conocer la historia de la novela.
Insisto, BEVERLY TENÍA QUE DARLE EL BESO A BEN NO A BILL, Ben se lo merecía mucho más pero como Bill es el protagonista, denle a la chica; no me tomen en serio, sé que es parte de la trama y este conflicto amoroso es una parte fundamental del desarrollo del capítulo II, pero en el momento que vi este primer capítulo me molestó demasiado, fue muy injusto.
The way they defeat Pennywise in this chapter is extremely predictable, it's the same concept of almost all demons, ghosts or evil beings; if you stop being afraid of them, they will lose their power and become weak. It's a bit "movie magic" or "deus ex machina" the fact that seven kids, no more than 13 years old, can defeat an evil being from another world just by hitting and hurting him with metal beams, I feel it takes away any supernatural power that Pennywise may have in the story.
I was a bit disappointed with that ending, but I like that they left the door open to make it more than clear that the story doesn't end there, without needing to know the story of the novel.
I insist, BEVERLY HAD TO GIVE THE KISS TO BEN NOT BILL, Ben deserved it much more but since Bill is the main character, give it to the girl; don't take me seriously, I know it's part of the plot and this love conflict is a fundamental part of the development of chapter II, but at the moment I saw this first chapter it bothered me too much, it was very unfair.
La verdad It: Capítulo I me gustó bastante, creo que ha sido una de los pocos materiales audiovisuales donde se presentan cosas a las que le tengo fobia y no me afectan tanto; de hecho, para hacer esta reseña con la memoria fresca, vi de nuevo las películas recientemente y no me afectaron tanto.
Considero que Andrés Muschietti hizo un muy buen trabajo dirigiendo está película, aunque sí hubo detalles que me hubiese gustado que fuesen hechos de otra manera, como digo siempre, el arte es relativo y cada quien percibe como aprecia las cosas de forma única.
I really liked It: Chapter I, I think it has been one of the few audiovisual materials where things that I have a phobia of are presented and don't affect me so much; in fact, to make this review with a fresh memory, I saw the movies again recently and they didn't affect me so much.
I consider that Andres Muschietti did a very good job directing this film, although there were details that I would have liked to be done differently, as I always say, art is relative and everyone perceives how they appreciate things in a unique way.
Si no has leído la novela, te la recomiendo muchísimo y si, en caso tal, leíste esta reseña sin haber visto la película; te recomiendo que la veas aunque ya te hayas llevado un par de spoilers, no digas que no te lo advertí.

Que mal que te hayan engañado para que vieras esta película, aunque por un lado fue bueno que comprobaras por ti misma que no había nada que temer.
No sé de cuál miniserie hablas, no había escuchado de ella, creo, aunque si de la película vieja, que por cierto me parece mejor que esta. 😆
Cuando ví la nueva no me gustó para nada, y es triste, porque tuvieron los recuersos para hacer una mejor adaptación de la historia, y muchas horas a su disposición.
Yo sé que jamás una película podrá abarcar tantas cosas como la abarca este libro, pero me parece un poco chimbo que solo lo hagan por entretenimiento y por asustar, cuando esta historia es mucho más que eso.

Realmente, siempre he sido amante de los libros por esa misma razón, he visto muy pocas adaptaciones que le han hecho justicia al libro o novela.
La primera versión, la del payaso con traje azul y amarillo, era una miniserie que, si mal no recuerdo, luego adaptaron como película; la verdad lo que te diga puede ser mentira porque no tengo mucha seguridad al respecto.

Sinceramente considero a "It" una de las peores películas de miedo que se hayan hecho, el hecho de que tu le tengas fobia a los payasos y la hayas visto sin problemas habla terriblemente mal del filme. Forma parte de ese lamentable gran grupo de películas de miedo que dan vergüenza ajena más que otra cosa. Buen post, un saludo y abrazo desde la distancia. n-n
Realmente sí, no la considero la peor película que existe, porque conozco muchas que no dan ni gracia, pero sí no logra su cometido de asustar o aterrar, exactamente por el punto que tú dices.
Siento que It es una novela a la que se le puede sacar demasiado material audiovisual y que tenga mucho provecho, pero estas adaptaciones, porque no puedo hablar por la primera, no lo logró.
A mi me asuto mucho la escena de la alcantarilla de la vieja, pero no se si es porque realmente la ví cuado era niña o por Tim Curry para mi es el mejor, pero estas nuevas versiones aunque son buenas no me causaron la impresión de la vieja. Saludos 🤗
Bueno, como comenté, esa escena en específico fue la que inició mi fobia a los payasos terriblemente; no he podido ver completa esa primera versión pero espero poder pronto hacerlo para poder comparar con estos remakes.
