Some traditions is wow my greatest ever from my state
Hello havians good to be here after a long break. Hope all is going well with you all.
In a country where everyone is fighting for themselves everyone to their stomach not thinking of another person how he or she is fairing at the same time if they see way, they will still extort from the poor. The rich will continue to be rich by extorting from the poor. Look at what the system has turn us into even the people that we choose to speak for us are the one oppressing us they are the one fighting us how do we get there. Right now in any thing beginning from appointment to the least thing like house help I mean working as nanny for a person is through connection. If you do not have anyone your case is sorry.
Now just look at this someone so dear to you is death instead of the so called leaders the village head to look for a way to help you buried your person that pass on instead they will be the one collecting so much from you the kind of long list they will give to you will shock you sometime I wonder if they okay or they just want to hurt you or they are settling trap for you because if you do not give them all the items in the list hum right there they will carry out their evil acts before you know someone will drop death again. So because of this people have been so used by this so call village leaders and the village head you will hear them saying that they were born into seeing their forefathers doing it so they can't erase the their forefathers traditions.
But if you go back to the old that is their forefathers they are talking about, those people were so considerable they never extorted things from people forcefully as this ones are doing. Them I mean their forefathers they understand that not all fingers are the same so they will deal or collect from you according to your strength not by force. But now are days is by force and if you don't give them what they want means you will not buried your loss one.
Last week what I saw grief me so much I was in Eket Local Government Area in Akwa Ibom State Nigeria for a burial my heart was skipping because of what I saw
You need to see the kind of long list that was given to an in-law to present before he is allow into the father in-law compound I was like if he doesn't give all this items what will happen I was told that it is compulsory that he must give as the In-law
Compulsory? What if he didn't have money to do all this what will become of him
As if that wasn't enough he gave them money in a big envelope. Tradition is one of the thing that is keeping some of our young ladies from marrying because when our men get to know how your traditions is if it that high they will run away some will get to extend of asking about the future in case you are death what will become their faith so if the demand is something to much they will quietly work away. This tradition has also cost a lot of homes so much because some home that can not attempt to this requirement they end up not buried their dead their dead perish in the morgue.

Below are the items collected from a son In-law for his father In-law burial I called it extortion because is too much for a person and it was by force what if he did not have what would have become of him. This so called tradition should stop collecting people something forcefully even the bereaved family was shock to see their leaders collecting all this item from their In-law me I was shot of words. Everything is list, marriage list, death list, burials list what? They don't care if you have enough to buy things for even the burial after all this you will still cook foods buy drinks in the burial day for them oh father have mercy
My happiness most time is we the up coming and future leaders will ends some tradition reasons why I say so is because most of us are not brought up In the village so when it come to our turn we will not oppress people to get from them in terms of marriage I don't think a lot of us will want to kill our in laws with too much list our own will be just take good care of daughter someone like me that is what I will do. No too much list and I believe someone here too is aspiring what am aspiring. Let stop this long list of a thing and self our children.
To be very sincere our forefathers were considerate they never treat people how our fathers now are doing so if they want to trace back to our forefathers you will understand that they were so good in tendering judgment they never judge case in favour of one side like now a days but they judged in favor of the two side despite the fact that they did not know God but they where so good and accurate in their judgment but now a days even the ones that called themselves elders and leaders in church are the one oppressing people more. If they really want live by example of our forefathers I think the right path is to follow them by so doing a lot of evil will less and oppression will end.
@ladygospel I wrote this to encourage our young people let us as we are growing not live by a wrong footsteps rather that wish is good and pleasant should be our footprints. Let people be happy when you are around not to when you are around people frank. This is the way forward be good to people let this our generation be proud of us.
