Pork Steak cooked in Coconut milk and Curry

This is delicious recipe and it has a combination of flavors that will make you wish to eat more. This is my husband favorite dish because the coconut milk change the taste of the pork and make it very delicate. I like to prepare pork and lamb with coconut milk because it changes the taste of these meats.

Curry is a mixture of different spices and the best ones are those which you can make yourself. They contain cumin seeds, ginger, pepper, nutmeg, cloves and turmeric among other species. If you can find the spices where you live you can prepare the quantity you will need and for sure it will be fresh and the dishes will smell better than the ones you buy in the food stores. I like to prepare my own coconut milk using fresh ones because the milk has more flavor.

To prepare this dish you will need:

  • 3 Pork steaks
  • 1 onion
  • 2 chillies
  • 1 red pepper
  • 1 cup of fresh coconut milk
  • 1 spoon of curry
  • 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic
  • salt at taste

Preparation:

  • Extract the milk of the coconut, and set aside for the end
  • Add salt and pepper to the steaks
  • Mix the spices and add to the steaks

  • Cut the chillies, onion and red pepper
  • Place the steaks in a pan with hot olive oil and cook them turning them constantly
  • Add the vegetables on the pork steaks and cook for 5 minutes

  • Finally add the coconut milk and adjust the salt and curry at taste

  • Place the lid to the pan and cook for 5 minutes, serve with rice or as you please
