Happy Sunday, Hivers!

It's finally the rest day and time to rejuvenate myself from all the anxiety in the office for the recent busy week.

As much as traveling has a lot to do with making me feel better after a hard day of work, so is painting. It has been 9 months since I last picked up my paintbrush and paint. Today I realized how much I miss art so I thought it is best if I gather again all my art materials, and paint all the anxiety away. Painting to me is therapeutic.

So I was itching my hands to paint today when I suddenly realized I ran out of white paint. Ohhh what a dismay! The store is quite far from where I live and I was like really drench in a lazy "day off" mood that I don't feel like stretching my feet to go out and buy.

And to save my day from total disappointment because I was not able to do the things I most love to do, I might as well take a look back at all my artworks. It would also be my pleasure if, by chance, you might also want to take a peep virtually. I have already shared with you my flowers and still-life paintings, this time I want to show you my landscapes.

When I am that stressed, one effective way to distress myself is to take a look at the artworks, in the humble gallery that my brother made for me. It was a mere wall where he delicately hangs them on the wall. Thanks to him.

I got my reference images from the internet for these images. I use acrylic as my medium although I haven't tried to use oil. Hopefully, I can expand my horizon and try oil painting one of these days.

Do you know why I love painting landscapes as one of my favorite subjects? It is because for the main reason that it lets me travel.

Painting is travelling.

Yes, it allows me to travel mentally. It opens up the door to a colorful wandering by looking at my painting and letting it speaks for itself. All I have is to look at and listen to it attentively. Would you like to join the journey?

Painting No. 1

The train that has let me hop in towards an incredible ride. It's like imagining I am sitting near the window and staring at the beautiful sights outside. The rocky mountains and flowers are mesmerizing that leave me in utter astonishment. One beautiful reminder to the cliche saying that "It's not about the journey. It's the destination."

Also, this image is letting me daydream that this train is homeward-bound. Ok, let us just daydream, for now, I am going home for real soon. 😊

Painting No. 2

The open field with a relaxing view of yellow flowers and sunflowers is wonderfully placed in a vase. Well, living in the city for the longest time has been mentally exhausting and I need some time to reward myself with serenity. This view is taking me to a secluded paradise where I can savor tranquility at its finest.

Painting No. 3

Take me where the flowers are. I have always loved to picture myself in a scenic and peaceful paradise, full of lovely flowers, and enjoy the whole day appreciating mother nature and all its beautiful things to offer. Pick up flowers and filled my basket with love as I hand them to the one I love.

Painting No. 4

Going home after a hard day of work to this view. A simple house facade in beautiful bricks, surrounded and sheltered by lush trees. I could imagine upon entering the arc, Mama is happily waiting for me inside. The refreshing breeze of the wind that warmly hugs me tells me I am finally there. If only I can go back home, for now, I am just letting this painting lessen the loneliness.

Painting No. 5

The wooden fence. The harmonic vibes between the peaceful fence and the bird taking a rest after soaring high and getting exhausted. Like humans, birds also get tired. And the fence has given it the comfort that today was enough to call it day. With the beautiful mountain view, how could this painting not let me wander mentally?

Painting No. 6

The colorful autumn. In my lifetime, I still haven't witnessed this inviting scene when leaves change from green to orange and from red to yellow. I only see it on Facebook and Instagram. And looking at this painting is the next best thing to experience this splendid beauty and hoping someday, I can get to see it firsthand.

Painting No. 7

The serenity in the forest. A relaxing walk in the woods with the cheerful chirping of birds can ease my tired mind and soul. It's all I need to get me through the coming weeks ahead.

Painting No. 8

Take me to the sea. Let me sail along the vast ocean and see the dolphins playing along with the waves. A precious moment and sight left in awe. And for now, let me just enjoy it on my mind.

Ok back to reality. A glimpse of these artworks has recharged me now. I may not be physically there but these artworks have taken me alternatively to beautiful destinations. I hope these paintings have also shown you the window to travel with me mentally and virtually. I hope to share more of my paintings with you in this wonderful community.
