My Life in Palette: Finding Solitude in Art

(Edited)

"Don't you get exhausted?" I heard someone ask.

And that question penetrated my senses while I was sipping my cup of morning coffee and staring blankly at the monitor and her voice echoed through the four corners of the office that one monotonous morning. Until I find myself thinking "yes, at some point in my life, I got tired."

"Why not take a rest?" In a calming voice, she uttered.

So from a life crippled by the everyday mundane that seems to be always in a hurry, I took a long pause and breath. Grab the mighty sword that has won my battle with loneliness --- my art materials.

"Paint", I heard her again whisper. It sounds more like cheering me up than it is ordering me to do. And she's right, I know I needed to. Not just to indulge me in my favorite hobby, but rather my way of getting in touch with myself, and organizing my thoughts.

And what do I paint the most? Well, I always have had a huge fascination with painting landscapes. And why? Not just because they are aesthetically pleasing to the eye when hung on someone else's wall. But more on because it is my up-close encounter with nature next to traveling and going into these serene places helps me in slowing down my pace. Since I do not have the chance to travel and see the breathtaking and astonishing beauty of nature in the flesh for now, I guess I just have to put them into the canvas and let my mind explore instead. This image of quiet haven is my soul's way of setting foot into places that could lighten up my mood when life's load has been weighing me down.

Now let me show you a glimpse of the world I always wander into whenever I take a dose of my much-needed rest. Or should I say breather?

I got this image inspired by John Magne Lisondra, a great Pinoy artist I'm looking up to. This lone tree house in the middle of the wilderness is my sweet escape from reality. This piece of art is my way of isolating myself from the rest of the chaotic abstracts of life. I colored it to give my mind time to decompress as well as to replenish my energy.

"Alone but not lonely"

The mixed-colored sky is a colorful glimpse of how I am loving every minute of my time painting alone. It's taking a full grasp of tranquility with nature in the piece of art.

Painting alone is my sweet escape. A messy yet colorful realm I teleport myself into in restoring my soul's balance. Each intuitive stroke is like stepping into the wilderness and finding solace in each hue and shade that pacify my burnt-out mind.

"Don't you get exhausted?"

"Why not take a rest?"

I heard someone say. And I'll be forever grateful that I took the time to listen and tune into my inner monologue amidst the chaotic hustle and bustle of life.

And yes, till my paintbrush will run out its last drop of color to pour onto my life's canvas, I won't stop painting.

It will always be a blissful work in progress till I made it into a masterpiece. As what they've clinched into the saying goes "it's the journey, not the destination". Padayon. 🎨

I'm glad you listened to that little voice inside you because this art piece is too beautiful. Can't stop staring at it. Dreamy, Inner child, Magic are words that comes to mind. I love the blend of colors. and the contrast of the blue door makes me wonder where it will take me. I really love it.

Padayon always. ❤️

Awww, it makes me genuinely happy that you find it magical @indayclara.

My 'naning' self must have sprinkled some spell of enchantment onto it. 😅 The magic behind that blue door will freeze in "what if's and could have been's" if we won't take the risk and see it for ourselves. It's just about life being a game of taking chances. 😊

Thank youuuuu for the kind words! I appreciate it so much! 🥰

It's wonderful that you found a way to escape the chaos of everyday life and connect with their inner self through painting, gaya ng mga post na nakikita ko din in some social medias na "You were doing to your self" hehe thats great.

Simply because it is my up-close encounter with nature next to traveling and going into these serene places.

I also put what I see on drawing. It is like a memory reference, right? :D

A messy yet colorful realm I teleport myself into in restoring my soul's balance.

I like this! We can see beauty in a storm.

Love the art!!! 😍

Yeah, I guess we could never thank art enough for luckily getting into our senses and helping us express all the things we simply cannot utter in words. Or takes us into places where all we can do for now is to dream and wish we were there. Some kind of manifesting na din. 😊

Thank you Jiji. ❤️

Yeah we do, mental health is everything especially now that adulting has many ways in taking our sanity, it's up for us on how to deal with them, and in my case, I found happiness in painting. 🥰

Gary was the first pinoy singer I became a big fan of. There are so many more.. who are ur favorites?

Wahhhh, there are many of them I could think of one specific singer. It's hard to choose 😅.

Hmmm..but to name a few, I am a fan of those Pinoy bands like Parokya ni Edgar and Silent Sanctuary. Most of their songs are mostly in Tagalog but if you'll take the time to listen (even if you won't understand the lyrics😅), the melody is so sweet to the ear. 😁

Wow. Looking at your painting first comes into my mind was "is it Studio Gibly?" it was like a good render most of their anime. Really a great job my friend. Love it!

Maybe in between reality and dream, painting this piece is the next best thing to take me to the aesthetic world of Ghibli. I am a huge fan of their movies by the way. 😊 I was about to add Howl's moving castle in the background 😅

Thank you so much @tawadak24!

I really enjoyed the reading. It is an inspiring story you share with us. Like you, I think many artists achieve that solitude you speak of, the same solitude that leads us to create more and more, as we explore the riches of our inner world. Greetings, friend.

Indeed, art is not just a mere piece of canvas framed and hung on the wall, it's a glimpse of the artist's soul of "who they were during the process". It is their unspoken words. Or it could be simply a quick escape to finding solitude when life is way too noisy.

Thank you so much @juniorgomez , I appreciate so much your kind words. 🥰

Wow😍 I am so amazed with your paintings. I love the combination of colors.

A Tree House reminds me of my childhood days. Climbing into the tree and enjoying the view around.

Me too 🥺. Oh, those good old days! I was kind of feeling melancholic thinking about the childhood things I did happily back in those days..and now I am reliving it in this painting.

Thank you so much @selflessgem for dropping by!🤗
