A Trip to Somewhere North: Another Relaxing Weekend Getaway to a Secluded Beach Destination

Hello, my friends! There's another unforgettable and relaxing beach getaway experience with my dear manghud (younger sister). Again, it was a team-building activity together with colleagues but every time we have this event, I always take the opportunity to bring my sister with me, because I also want her to have a relaxing beach stay.

This time, we went to Cabo Beach in Burgos, Pangasinan. A secluded beach that we did not expect would take us almost 12-hour road travel from Manila. When we were just planning for this event, one of our colleagues suggested this place because she saw this on Facebook and she thought it would be the best for a relaxing beach experience. But we did not know that it was very far because when we think of Pangasinan, one of the northern provinces in Luzon, we thought it would only take us 3 to 4 hours of road travel. We did not research how far this place is so later we know that it was one of the farthest and most secluded municipalities in the province while we were on the way, and of course, there was no turning back.

We left at Manila at around 5:30 AM and we reached Burgos at around 5:30 PM. A 12-hour road journey was quite exhausting but it all vanished when we were greeted by the captivating sunset view when we reached the resort. It was all worth the travel. What a breathtaking view it was!

The next morning, I and my sister woke up early because we wanted to witness the amazing view of sunrise. Of course, it would be more amazing on the beach. And yes, were not disappointed.

This secluded beach has no internet connection so aside from being disconnected from the stress and chaos of city life, it also felt so good being disconnected from the rowdy notifications from emails, Viber messages, and work-related group chats on Facebook messengers. Our early morning walk has given us a soothing connection of our soul with nature. It was so good to hear nature playing its beautiful melody in the sound of the sea breeze. I and my sister made the most of that relaxing walk as we breathe in the serenity of the place.

The sand was so fine so we were able to walk barefoot without hurting our feet. There was also rock formation which added charm to the beach. While we were walking, we met this friendly dog who joined us while strolling the beach. It was like he wanted to play with us. But we were just gently walking so he also walked gently along with us. It was like he was giving us a free and friendly tour to show us his beautiful hometown. What a good boy!

Sometimes we are very busy making a living every day that we forget to make a living. That's why I appreciate those moments when I get the time to reconnect with mother nature and have a soothing interaction with it. This place has indeed given us the much-needed vacation that I have been longing for. The tranquility here was perfect to unwind and chill.

Since this beach is unlike any other famous beach resort that is crowded with many people, it is also the perfect place to meditate. The stunning view of blue water and the clear sky has some kind of therapeutic magic. The sounds of the sea breeze soothed my soul which helped me replenish and relaxed.

As we went back home to Manila, we brought with us an unforgettable priceless memory, not just with my colleagues, but most especially with my sister. She surely had fun.
