Greetings community, how are you? Here reading the new community activity 😃☺️. I find it super interesting to know a little more about the people who are part of the community.

At home we do vegetable market on Saturdays. It's an open-air market where many farmers from the paramo and the southern town come with their vegetables.

They are much fresher and cheaper, as well as a great variety. Lately the market has diversified its products:
Fruits
Vegetables
Medicinal plants
Cereals
Grains
Decorative plants
Flowers
Prepared food

Every Saturday is family day out, Sasha stays at home. I walk the first part of the market with my husband and my dad goes with Santiago to the park. There are a lot of people and I don't like that they are too close to Santi.

IMG-20221105-WA0041.jpeg

Then halfway through the market the space is bigger, and Santiago joins in the shopping, he loves to pick tomatoes, potatoes and onions, his criteria is: the biggest.

IMG-20221105-WA0045.jpeg

We always buy a torta💚 they are very tasty, our favorite is carrot. But they make zucchini, chocolate and pumpkin.

IMG-20221105-WA0027.jpeg

We also buy the cambures from Santi where a gentleman who has served me for 13 years, imagine that. His vegetables are always a little bigger than usual, and now he always jokes with my little boy. I have known him since I arrived in Merida.

IMG-20221105-WA0031.jpeg

One of the things we always buy is coconut, specifically the dried coconut, since I learned to make coconut milk and flour, it is always there, although sometimes we eat it as a snack.

IMG-20221029-WA0040.jpeg

To choose the coconut, the first thing is that it is not cracked, then check that it sounds water inside, the other thing is to observe the holes of the coconut, I learned that when they are dark coconut is rich in fat (to make oil)...Now we use everything from the coconut, even the shell.

Another thing we almost always do is to buy some medicinal plants, the lady is very kind and has beautiful plants.

On the way back we buy food for Sasha, broccoli, chard, beets, which is what she likes the most and is doing well in her new diet.

When we arrive home she receives us with a lot of love and ready to eat, just like Santiago. So have been the last Saturdays at the little market.

Thanks for reading me 💚
