Inspirational Quotes and Phrases // This movie came to mind. TITANIC.

I loved yesterday's writing prompt, which I read on the Twitter feed of this great cinephile community; plus Mae West's quote for the prompt is simply wonderful "You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough". I remember the question was what movie comes to mind? Actually this quote is very inspiring and that's why I was encouraged to share my impression and answer, for you.

When we talk about living, the image of traveling and getting to know as many places as possible comes to mind, getting to know the world in first person is one of the most exciting things in life. One of the things that this entails, is the fact that meeting people from other cultures, allowing the exchange of ideas, experiences and points of view; that will enrich our stay in the place, whatever it is.

The above opinion leads me to a special place, perhaps the one that meant the most exciting journey between continents, at a time when its meaning went beyond a simple pleasure ride; even what for some was a pastime, for others was the hope of a better life, in the bounties of the promised land. All framed in the deep social differences that have always governed human existence.

To the delight of the pretentious Rose and with Molly's help, Jack managed to attend the special dinner, which only first class passengers could enjoy. Wearing borrowed clothes was no problem for someone so self-confident that instead of complaining about how little or nothing he had in money, he valued the opportunity to share food, drinks and the gaze of the girl he liked the most. This scene leaves us with a great message and is worth remembering.

As you may notice, my mind has traveled to the Titanic itself, the largest and most luxurious ship of the early 20th century; but in this case and beyond the story of its tragedy, I will focus on a very special scene; and on the atmosphere that surrounded it, to give it that touch of the law of life. I am referring, of course, to what the then "upper class" nobles talked about with a peculiar and unexpected guest at their luxurious table.

In that dinner of wealthy people, there was a humble but dignified boy, who did not hesitate to respond sincerely to the malicious and mocking comments of his fellow diners. Rose's mother asks Jack in a sarcastic tone, about how is the third class of the ship; and this boy without studies or honorary titles, gives them a sobering answer, which leaves the message that I want to emphasize.

The truth is that life is a great gift and we have what we need to enjoy it, the air we breathe and whatever makes us happy; whatever we like to do. We all have some talent and are good at something. Therefore, we must learn to take life with what it offers us. We cannot expect to have a lot of money to undertake something, our desire to do it can also determine our success.

With such an answer, those present received a good lesson, from someone they might not have imagined. A boy without wealth or fortune, but who valued what he had, the luck of being in that moment, drinking champagne and watching the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. That assurance struck Rose, who raised her glass to toast to that phrase, "For it to be worth every day." Life won't wait for us, so we must go out and get it and make it count.

What Jack and Rose lived on the Titanic is an intense love story that made them forget their origin and destiny; so much so that both saved each other's lives more than once and in the end, that love remained in the heart of the beautiful Rose, who gave him the place he deserved; adopting the surname Dawson. Although she went on with her life and got married, it is also true that she never forgot that boy who saved her, not only from physical death, but also from the death of not valuing what we have.

In particular, I really like this kind of activities and proposals from you, as they inspire me in my memories of cinema. Sometimes, an idea leads us to treat the subject from our perspective and that breaks with the usual review that we know. Many times, it is a scene or a phrase that leaves its mark on us and with this invitation, the memory comes to the surface and we relive the experience.

See you next time!
