Venezuela has the international fame of being the country of the most beautiful women; and when that beauty is combined with a beautiful voice and powerful voice, we remember that there were and there are singer-songwriters who meet such requirements; and that time seems not to have passed because their star is still intact. On this specific occasion, I am referring to Karina, a girl who, although she was not born in our country, arrived at a very early age and became the "Chama" who made people sing at the top of their lungs, her well-remembered songs. Karina was born in Peru and arrived to the promised land, hand in hand with her emigrant parents.

Venezuela tiene la fama internacional de ser el país de las mujeres más bellas; y cuando esa belleza se conjuga con una voz linda y potente voz, recordamos que hubo y hay cantautoras que cumplen con tales requisitos; y que el tiempo parece no haber pasado porque su estrella sigue intacta. En esta ocasión específica, me refiero a Karina, una chica que, aunque no nació en suelo patrio, llegó a muy temprana edad y se convirtió en la “Chama” que puso a cantar a todo pulmón, sus recordadas canciones. Karina nació en Perú y llegó a la tierra prometida, de la mano de sus padres emigrantes.

Cynthia Karina Moreno Elías, a beautiful young woman who surprised the public and the media with her melodious voice and her natural command of high tones; that is why people literally shouted with emotion when singing her songs. Most of them are themes of love, heartbreak and joviality; I still remember that song "Zapatos de tacón alto" with which she became known; and which was followed by her first record production called "Amor a Millón", an absolute success, with songs that became practically hymns; the songs Sálvame, A quien, Amor a millón, among others, are today classics of Spanish music.

Cynthia Karina Moreno Elías, una hermosa joven que sorprendió al público y a los medios, con su melodiosa voz y su natural dominio de los tonos altos; por eso la gente al cantar sus temas, literalmente las gritaba de emoción. En su mayoría, se trata de temas de amor, desamor y jovialidad; aún recuerdo aquel tema “Zapatos de tacón alto” con el que se dio a conocer; y al que le siguió su primera producción discográfica llamada “Amor a Millón”, éxito absoluto, con temas que se convirtieron prácticamente en himnos; las canciones Sálvame, A quien, Amor a millón, entre otras, son hoy temas clásicos de la música en español.

From her second production, she produced very popular songs such as "La noche es mágica" and "Lo digo de Corazón"; and from the third album (1989) she added other songs to her long list, such as Soni, Desde mi sueño, and no sé. It is then that the 19 year old decided to retire for a while from the stage, despite her young age and the incredible projection to become in those years, an idol of music. But her return came with another album in 1993 and with a changed woman, she was no longer the modern girl with long hair, now she wore short hair and showed professional maturity, that album was called "Esta es mi vida" and highlights of it, the songs Nunca te olvidaré and Cómo olvidar (which is one of my favorites).

De su segunda producción se derivan temas muy sonados como “La noche es mágica” y “Lo digo de Corazón”; y del tercer álbum (año 1989) sumó otros temas a su larga lista, como Soni, Desde mi sueño, y no sé. Es entonces que la joven de 19 años decide retirarse durante un tiempo de los escenarios, a pesar de su corta edad y de la increíble proyección para convertirse en aquellos años, en ídolo de la música. Pero su regreso llegó con otro disco en 1993 y con una mujer cambiada, ya no era la muchacha moderna del cabello largo, ahora usaba el cabello corto y manifestaba madurez profesional, ese disco se llamó “Esta es mi vida” y destacan de éste, los temas nunca te olvidaré y Cómo olvidar (el cual es de mis favoritos).
