Today, I'll be sharing with you all one of my very first trial on digital cartoon portraitures, it was really an eye opening and motivating time for me when I just concluded the the art, although it wasn't as good as the YouTube video I learnt from but it was a really good first attempt for me.

Step 1: on this stage I created my neat line Art of the head and hand using a picture reference I got Frome the model's IG page.
Step 2: here I also created the line art for the cloth and decided to make the bottom edges drippy to give it some graffiti feel
Step 3: Here on this stage I established my first layer of colour, some may call it base colour. I had already picked out the skin tone of the model from the picture reference I got so I just layed it in.
Step 4: Here I started adding my shades to the character such as the face and the hand. This step wasn't so add because I had already figured out where the shadow will be using the reference picture I got.
Step 5: On this stage I added my first light to the art
Step 6: on this stage, I worked on the lips by adding the base colour and laying in some dark and light area to make it look realistic a little.

Step 8: I decided to work on the ring he has on and also the hair. For his hair, I decided to use a gradient stroke of dark/light/dark to create the strands to achieve a realistic look.
Final Step - Background: This has always been the most challenging stage for me cos I always find it hard to figure out a background for my art and can be really frustrating sometimes, so this time, I decided to create something more cashy with some dollar sign and his name tag.
